  1. This is what I've been saying. Still think it's likely to either be an internal guy (Paul Sorrento, etc.) or an older/veteran guy who'll be happy to come in for a year, make some $, and then quietly move on or head back to retirement once the long-term statuses of the management and front office teams are clearer.
  2. I don't really care about Reed or Mallee, but look at what they had to work with. Aside from the four you mentioned, a lot of the guys who got playing time in the second half of the season shouldn't have even been on a major league roster.
  3. Good interview, Chuck. This part has me a little worried, though: AngelsWin.com: Okay. Tell us a little bit about your repertoire: your pitches, fastball velo. Sam Bachman: Two-seam, it’s, like, 92-95. Changeups, mid to upper 80’s as well as a slider. Hope that improves.
  4. I would say there's almost no chance the Angels will be in on anyone at Taillon's expected level of contract this off-season.
  5. https://bbwaa.com/voting-faq/ When does the voting take place? Voters submit their ballots before the start of the postseason.
  6. It would have been much funnier if that linked to a blank page... My guess? Sorrento becomes the hitting coach.
  7. I fully expect it to be an internal candidate, for the same reasons I wasn't surprised they didn't seek an outside candidate for manager. (Yes, I used a double negative...)
  8. Nah, he's not dead in Creed III. He's just not in the movie. There's not really a reason for him to be, given the specific story that they're telling in this one. Some have speculated he was left out because of Stallone's dispute with one of the producers, but that's not accurate.
  9. You're replying to a two-week old post and incorrectly assuming I was referring to Moreno. I was referring to Sam Blum.
  10. Houston went 5-2 against the Yankees this year and 4-3 against the Guardians--but had a larger run differential against the Guardians. I imagine they'll be fairly heavily favored against either team.
  11. If your logical and rhetorical skills aren't any better in real life than they are here, you're probably making a wise career choice. I congratulate you.
  12. Nah. You have this weird obsession with proving people "wrong" or trying to force them to "admit" they're wrong. It's more than a little bizarre. Nothing I said was wrong. We differ on how we interpret was what said. You take the cynical view and I don't. The guy was burned out, decided he wanted to do something else and see if he could find a new passion, and, in doing so, re-ignited his desire to play baseball. You see him as some sort of childish fool who got scared that he wasn't going to make money. That's fine if that's how you want to see the world. It's just sort of sad. I don't really have anything else to say on the matter, as you'll just keep repeating the same stuff and trying to fulfill your weird "need" (your word, not mine) for people admitting they're wrong. Hope you find fulfillment in doing that on here.
  13. I just think you and some others have decided that he's a certain type of reporter and you view everything he says or does through a certain lens. That's fine, but I just don't agree with your view of him. I think he offers a useful perspective that the other beat writers don't. (Cue Stradling trying again to explain to me what a beat writer is supposed to do.)
  14. It's not naive to have this opinion, nor was his decision a result of a temper tantrum. It kind of seems like you haven't actually followed the story. But that's ok. I just don't see why you feel the need to come back to this and belittle people who say they understand why Buttrey did what he did. Move on. I'm sure you have better things to do.
  15. ...which Blum also included as a screenshot in his tweet. Again, this is a nothing story all around.
