I continue to be perplexed at the lack of desire to let Fletcher have 2B. He played half the season for us last year and was perfectly adequate. Especially relative to the other disasters the Angels have around the field. I’m not sure why LaStella is a more compelling solution. I see the OBP. But I also know they he’s been very much a situational player. Has he even had a run of consistent play like Fletcher has last year ? and Fletcher is great at D.

Ya, this is an egregious and huge miss. They threw 10 million and rolled the dice on Cody Allen and that was suppose to help a team that basically has no 3rd baseman. Not good at all. I’ve been saying it for the last 18 months. Our line up is the biggest challenge to getting into the post season in the near term. I like the Bour get and hopefully it works out. LaStella is fine as a back up. But both of these guys are decently high risk in terms of delivering acceptable every day production. Especially LaStella. This guy is fuc*king NL pinch hitter. Add in the stupid bang your head against door faith in Calhoun and Pujols. Jesus Christ. Half the line up might be garbage with Upton and Ohtani. It’s just dumb. And I also don’t understand why we had to rush and sign Cahill. Who’s probably fine. But I think I would have rather waited to see how the market panned out. It’s just shitty. Anyway, I’m glad to have baseball back and I want to have some hope for a good season. But this shit is miserable.

This is of course just the most typical thing for the Angels. They should have done way more with the line up and they just didn’t. It’s very frustrating. Moustakas, Gonzalez, so many other solid players to be had cheaply. They talked about all the financial flexibility so much over the last 10 days. I just don’t even want to hear about it. If Justin Bour and Tommy LaStella don’t hit I don’t want to watch them until July. I want to see these rookies that the Angels have completely deferred to this past offseason.

I don’t understand why anyone has any faith that if any genuinely damning information exists it will ever come out or matter. Barr is and has been a Trump surrogate. Moreover, The Republicans in Congress, who control a chamber have shown no willingness to challenge Trump on anything. Honestly stop it. It’s all pointless. The investigation ran its course. This new attempt to go after healthcare is a fuc*king gift on a golden platter. They’re literally trying to funnel nuclear tech to the Saudis. That’s just in the last week. And so many of these idiots just can’t bring themselves to target that shit. It’s infuriating.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a guarantee that Heaney won’t end up having a decent or even good season for the Angels. We’ll see what happens. But beyond a doubt this is just another slap on the face that when you’re dealing with pitchers who have had these elbow injuries that require tommy john. It’s a serious thing. There’s no guarantee that you’ll get the same pitcher back. The Angels simply have to move on from all these broken arms eventually. It’s a thing that’s going to take years. This shit is just never going to stop happening we’re just tied to these guys. Even with Ohtani. Who the fu*ck knows. We all hope for the best of course. But it’s a serious injury. They probably should have used Cody Allen’s money for like Gio Gonzalez.
