Uh barely into the off-season and it’s already starting to feel like last year. People we want getting signed left and right. Inb4 the inevitable panic signings.

The October baseball is what you remember, not the July baseball.
If win a World Series then yes otherwise I complete disagree. I remember amazing players (Nolan Ryan) and moments (Santana's no hitter) but if you asked me how far the team went that year I wouldn't remember.
Looking back in history I would much rather have a moment like the no-hitter this year then a first round playoff exit like the Dodgers. I will never forget the Skagg's moment while a early playoff exit is so forgettable. Once again this is looking back if we jumped forward in time, not at this very moment because I would obviously like to have a competitive team.
-
I'm sure most disagree with my opinion but here it is.
I think you will always choose to have a successful team to watch every year BUT in 40 years I would rather look back and say I watched (maybe) the best player in baseball history on a daily basis over just a team making the playoffs but not winning it all.

It should be on the GM for his selection of players to target and on Arte for how much he is willing to spend. For example, Harvey, Cahill, and Allen are on Eppler. Arte gave Eppler the money and trusted him to make the correct decision, which he didn't.

I did really like some of the fundamentals Asmmus brought to the table.
- Better selection at the plate, which led to more walks and contact.
- Playing the hot hand and not Scioscia's terrible stick to the plan approach
I didn't like his handling of the bullpen, that was terrible. Also some of his general decision making was bad. Too many mistakes for my liking.

All in on Maddon or this is a bad move. A lot of work to do this off-season but there is a clear idea of what needs to happen.

Not a good look for Shohei, but he's never done anything like this before, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
That's not true, he did the exact same thing last week on a passed ball that he would have been safe on but he lightly jogged.

I think Ohtani broke. He looks like the spring training hitter form last year. Just horrible.
I’m curious what Trout’s stats would be without the juiced ball because he’s looked off this season more than any other season. I feel like the HR total has really boosted his all around stats, which would otherwise be poor for him.

Did he not see the ball? Did he forget the count? Because it looked like he wasn't giving much effort.
I mean the ball was directly in front of him. My only guess was he thought he’d get thrown out easily. But he would have been easily safe if he ran. He’s looked so off recently, demeanor and all. So many whiffs

That was simply inexcusable. Better players have been sent straight to the bench for the remainder of the game. Totally embarrassing.

I seem to remember the Santa Monica paper mentioned cocaine. I think it was a shot in the dark based on an educated guess of an OD.
I think a lot of us thought OD but we’re not journalists from a well known journal in LA claiming something in a public format. What they posted was totally out of line even now.

Remember the article by the Santa Monica newspaper? Seems they weren't making shit up like people were accusing them of.
They were doing the same thing any keyboard warrior does when something like this occurs: make assumptions. That’s fine on a random Internet forum, it’s not okay if you’re a published paper. Nothing more than cheap tabloid BS.

No risk at all so worth the signing. I don’t except him to get close to his potential because of all the issues he already has at 23. More baggage than most non Angel/Mets pitchers have in their career already.

Well the good thing is that I won't be driving in California most of the time so if something is 60 miles away it will take around 60 minutes to get there. I'll definitely be bringing my glove and I'll try to sneak to better seats. I should probably start looking at ticket prices because I have no idea what each of these ballparks cost but it can't be too much.
I'm thinking the Cubs game will be the only one that might be sold out since they are going for the playoffs and it will be a weekend game if I do indeed decide to drive to Chicago.
You need to be around the stadium before and after their games. An absolutely unreal atmosphere that makes me so jealous. I think it’s peak baseball fandom for me.

This actually sounds like a really cool idea. Just fly somewhere and drive to all the stadiums you can get to in X days, and do a new area every year. I might have to start doing that.
Yeah it’s a blast and doesn’t require the big time commitment like driving across the country does. For example a few years ago I flew into Chicago then drove north through Milwaukee/Green Bay to Minneapolis. Saw 4 baseball stadiums/games and also Lambeau. Only took 5 days. Obviously it’s much easier with east coast teams but there are enough that you can make 5-6+ trips out of it.
-
Every year I fly to a different state then drive across 2-3 states and visit stadiums. I love seeing new places and getting the chance to visit new stadiums to watch a game is the cherry on top. I've been to ~85% of current stadiums so almost there! It's a total blast and you're going to have an amazing time that you'll never forget.

Feels so good to finally do something!! Wooo

After he hurt his wrist in 2015, he hit .218 for the month of August.
In late 2017, he was so crappy-by-his-standards that his batting average went from .348 to .307 in the span of just over five weeks. (He hit .237 in September of that season.)
This stretch will pass, too. But it still sucks to watch this team when he's slumping.
I remember the month after his wrist injury but I didn’t really count that given the circumstances. I forgot about that September though so thanks for reminding me! I expect it to pass just like others nuts hopefully soon so others don’t enter the mvp conversation.
also wow a big hit! Woooo
-
Maybe my memory is poor but I don’t remember the last time Trout was this bad for this long of a stretch. I really hope we don’t start hearing a DJ for mvp rhetoric across social media.
-
Wow Trout has been terrible lately. I’ve noticed that he’s getting in the hole way too often. Curious how he’s going to fix this.
-
It’s way too early to make a definitive call on Canning either way. There were certainly signs of his potential this year but it’s year 1 so anything could happen. Heck, we don’t even know if his arm will hold up or not.
-
Truly a special pitcher. So happy to have him on the roster getting put in for high stakes moments every other game. What a blessing to have him as a the main option.

Stassi is a great defensive catcher and anyone that says otherwise doesn’t really watch him play. Even great defensive players make mistakes. His hitting has been a massive surprise.
