    A Ray signing by itself will be meh. A Ray signing combined with another free agent pitcher signing would be HUGE. I rather not go the trade route but if it’s that or nothing then so be it.

    He’s probably about to grossly overpay for Ray. Gausman got 5/110 so anything much more than that would be an overpay

    If you go and watch Ray through the years he seems to be constantly tweaking with his delivery. Then in 2020 before being traded to Toronto he made a noticeable change and kept his elbow bent, that clearly didn’t work. Maybe he’s finally found something that works for him.

    Is Castillo the play in case we don’t get Ray? Or are they actually looking to get 2 starting pitchers? Would make so much more sense to just sign Ray and Stroman. A trade for Castillo is going to undo everything Billy did for the farm.

    Nope. We do this every year Strad. We need two more legit starters. Ray/Stroman and a trade for Sonny Gray would play. But that up there, nah.

    If it ends up being Syndergaard and Gray then they’ve once again failed to properly address their need for pitching and we can start looking ahead to next years FA class
