I seriously don't get how people think this was dumb for the Mets.  They borrowed almost 6 million bucks basically unsecured, at 8%, with zero payments due for years and years and years.  The no payments due period is a HUGE detail.

Bonilla could have invested that money into something secured, like real estate development, and yielded double the return.

Please, anyone, if you want Bonilla's deal contact me.  Ill give you 9% instead of 8%, no problem.

I'll build a mini storage warehouse or an industrial park or a wedding venue. . .. and collect rents for years and years and years and build equity in the property and then pay you back with future cash flow and i will end up owning a multi million dollar cash flowing property risking none of my own money.

The key to making this deal sweet for the borrower is the fact that no payments were due for a long long time. That kind of loan can be very risky to the investor and they typically want much more than 8% in that structure.

The Mets got 6 million at 8% with no payments due for 11 years!!!

11 years!  Look up private construction loans where people needs millions to build properties and cannot start a payment stream back to the investor for years.  Look it up.

12% rates AND 10% equity.  Bonilla got 8% and no equity.

I'm not saying an 8% return isn't nice security for Bonilla.  But it was also a very nice deal for the Mets who were in a hard money cash crunch situation.

Once you include a term for an extended no payment period like 10 or 11 years, 8% is cheap money.

Is that a real offer?   I'm ready to invest with you for guaranteed 9% interest for 35 years.

  2.  Is playing full games in the minor leagues really babying a player? Mike Trout  doesn't seem like the kind of person to take it easy just because it's a minor-league assignment. I'll bet if a ball is hit over his shoulder Mike Trout will go as hard as he can and crash into that minor-league wall to try to catch it. That's just who he is. That's why I say if he's physically capable to play a full game he should be doing it in the major leagues. Would you feel better if he hurt himself playing in the minor-league assignment

  3.  The name of the game is winning baseball games right? Aren't there times when a rehabbing Mike Trout is better than any other option that's currently on the roster. As long as he can physically complete a full game he still better than what's currently being played. Just his presence in the lineup will affect how other people are being pitched. This will give the angels a better chance to win.

One of the things he's got to do is play 9 innings in the OF.

    I guess something this

    W: 3 ABs as DH

    Th: 5 innings in OF

    F: 7 innings in OF

    Sa: whole game at DH

    Su: 9 innings in OF

    Mo: 3 AB DH

    Tu: off

    wed: BP at Angel stadium

Th: live BP (off a pitcher) at Angel Stadium

    Fri: back in the lineup

I'm sorry but if that is the plan that I'd stupid.  Why would they need to limit innings in the field.  Hr hurt his hand, he should have constantly doing lower body and cardio stuff.  It's all about being able to swing the bat.  You should be able to tell if the thumb will affect catch and throw without being in a game.

    Should look like this

    W 3abs dh

    Th full game

if feels good should only take that long if he is having issues

    F bring him up.

Right now Albert is working his butt off to end the season with the second most HRs on the Halos ahead of Calhoun, Maldonado, and Simmons.

People who really work their butts off for a much worse living might take offense to that. He gets paid $40,000 every time he walks up to the batters box.  At his current batting average he only has to run once per night.  It gets tiresome hearing how hard he is working and how much pain he fights through.  He is very very well compensated for doing very little.  He's lucky.  He was born with a gift you can't teach or work for what he has done otherwise hall of famers  would be everywhere. He's become a singles hitter with no speed that's good for 20-25 homers a year.

You know that it never works like that. We are going to die a slow agonizing death. We'll hang in there until the better teams begin to separate themselves around the end of August. I still say better days are ahead in 3-5 years but we'll be flatlined in early September.

MLB has every team right where it wants them.  The expanded playoffs more likely to make mediocre teams relevant. Before the expanded playoffs the angels would really pretty much be out of it.  Fans would be (more) gone.

Just becaus it is still irritating me, the balk rule needs to be abolished. It really serves zero purpose. Who gives a flying fuck if a pitcher flinches the wrong direction, you stray off the base at your own risk.

I think it should be like grade school kickball.  You have to stay on the base until the ball is in play.
