  1. "People say, 'Oh, you can't be happy,''' Moreno says. "You kidding? This is a dream. The value of the team has substantially grown. We've got no debt. We play in a great area. I love our fans.

This shows where his priorities really lie.  Value of the team > Presence of debt > SoCa > Fans

    No mention of winning.

  2. The thing to worry about is why was it said.  How many of these accusations have turned out to be true?  Remember when Jose Canseco was the big liar, turns out that he was the only one speaking the truth.  Didn't that trainer of Bonds go to jail because he wouldn't admit he injected him?  Don't know if it is true of not but I figure a Dominican player coming up in a time when it seems that most guys were doing it, going from a nobody to the best hitter of a decade...  After hearing so many denials turn into lies I wonder about all the players of the past 20 years.  Cmon you know there is at least some doubt.

  3. Pujols is only thinking of pujols and his numbers. If rest is the best thing why would they bring him back early and risk reaggravating it for nothing.

And whoever said they are glad he wants to "work" for his money. The guy is s designated hitter. His "work" is to swing a baseball bat 4-5 times per night.

  4. Two things about this.  Due to the limited budgets the misses don't get as much attention.  A $240 million dollar mistake gets much more press than a $10 million dollar mistake.

Also, expectations tend to be higher on the teams with higher payrolls.  When they fail it seems like a bigger failure.  When a small budget team fails people can at least fall back on "Oh well, if they had a higher budget..."

  5. Being a baseball manager is the most overrated managerial postition in any major sport, especially in the American League.  Perhaps the Angels would be willing to test my theory that a sixth grader could "manage" as well as any of these guys.  Open up the application process!!

    Wanted:

    Professional Baseball Manager

Require 4 years of little league experience and a sixth grade reading level.

Competetive salary starting at $10 per week.

Send your CV (no crayon) to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Offices

  6. Pujols will never shut himself down.  He knows that he still is getting that random home run despite playing at a fraction of his career numbers.  He has a more important goal than team success, the home run title.  Losing half a year costs hime probably 10-15 to his total.
