  1. The off-season Register article about him I didn't know about with his hip limitation. That he's emphasizing reconnecting it there to driving instead of clubbing it is convincing, particularly for Angel Stadium. Spells clutch with that said.
  2. By the odds list, the Twins were that before winning the 1987 WS. The Halos above the WC Red Sox...maybe they know something we don't? The Pirates, Blue Jays, and Royals have the most attractive prices.
  3. If the price is right regardless of losing the 1st round pick, they should bring Morales in. The present value overwhelms the future value, here. They need to get back to the post season, and they have the chance to back there with more run-productive continuity to the lineup. Like Benjie Molina, Morales delivers in the rally. Trumbo killed them. That 2002 feeling could be brewing here with bringing him in.
  4. Morales (after regretting not sending Trumbo to the M's last year for Vargas instead of him).
  5. I can see it now. The press is looking for every indication where Arte is and they're not finding him.
  6. M's were on the rumor front to get Hamilton last year, don't buy it! The Halos are the more attractive place to play because Albert's in the lineup.
  7. Kaz is probably already scheduled with that. Balco might be underground. Bottom line, just don't overpay the Doc and take him on to see if last season's return was merely a hiccup.
  8. Would we really look stupid to take on Halladay compared to Kazmir, then?! Honestly, just don't overpay for Halladay. Problem is the Halos might hard pressed at that
  9. What, is there an echo in here? Amen to that!
  10. Weaver, Wilson, Richards, Halladay, Blanton (I guess, the scrap heap part of anybody's rotation). You wouldn't chance it that his return last year might have been a hiccup, proving he needed more time to bake, and that he might move up?!
  11. We're not talking about Blanton here; this is Doc Halladay! Someone will take the chance on him, it's not like every team has completely turned their backs on him of letting him ride off into the sunset. He'll be 38 in 2014 but, some more time with rehab and strengthening...I WOULD TAKE THAT CHANCE IN A HEARTBEAT. Just don't overpay for him. Put it this way, I would give him 2/22 over Kazmir just for that chance.
  12. That's it, but I don't want it tied to Facebook, so I setup a new one.
  13. •Anyone — Sign Roy Halladay if he wants to come back Okay, I’m cheating, as this isn’t really a fantasy baseball related issue at this point. Still, Roy Halladay has had a fantastic career and deserves to have a better curtain call than what 2013 offered. I’m not a fan of any team he’s ever played on, but this is definitely a fan-boy plea. I still watch when I’m flipping channels and see Doc on the mound, and I’d love to have that chance for another season. Okay, let’s finish on a happier note. (FanGraphs) I'd take the chance, myself. At first indication he's regaining, wammo o bammo than you mammo, cha ching!!
  14. BTW, how can I get my old name back without it tied to Facebook, a mistake I made since this website format changed. Halladay tried to come back too soon last year. What do you think they're willing to pay or trade for the quality starter you have in mind mid-rotation. By the looks of Vargas going to KC, unless Arte will consider spending beyond the lux tax threshold while he has Trout to ink to a big deal and awaiting the time for money to fall off the books, the bargain path/gamble persists bottom rotation half after Williams and Hanson have been non-tendered.
  15. I've already suggested Narveson to possibly consider for starting rotation bottom, arguing how teams tend to go to the "heap" for that part as it is. So, how about Roy Halladay; not to overpay him, but to consider for some bargain figure, bridge 3 or 4th in the rotation for the chance to regain toward old form? Rotation Scenario: Weaver, Wilson, Richards/Halladay, Narveson (upon speculation only). Sign Halladay, at least, toward something after non-tendering Williams and Hanson!!
  16. ...I mean, it's not exactly payday for the bottom rotation starter, so yeah, the heap is an option?
  17. Overlooking, how do you think most clubs view the 5th starter rotation spot to begin with? "Scrap heap" and a dog fight, where they take chances on guys like these for it, perhaps motivating them to move higher up while.
  18. When healthy, he's been pretty impressive. The velocity drop off is likely due to the shoulder issues he's dealt with. Even in 10-11, he topped out at 90, but it's his deception. Like Ernesto, he distinctively has had hitters have trouble picking him up. 31 y/o, having nagging or freakish injuries (broken glass on the thumb for one) limiting him of action while a good athlete to begin with, what if this guy has needed time to regain on his side? Could we be looking at a Jamie Moyer in the window ahead? You never know until you take the chance.
  19. Halos have non-tendered lower rotation starters Williams and Hanson. They might look into the bargain flyer, free agent Narveson, here. Injured, limited the past couple of seasons, but then again so was Kazmir and the A's paid the ridiculous 11 mil per for the next 2 years for him. Narveson was pretty good in 10-11 with the Brewers. With the healing factor to consider, that kind of a mound presence with a chance at rejuvenation intrigues me.
  20. Switch-hitter at that? Not very many in my book, and he wouldn't have tanked at the plate with RISB as much compared to Trumbo where they might've won more games last season.
  21. They traded the wrong player for Vargas last season. It should have been Trumbo instead of Morales.
  22. Season's Greetings! The Halos seem to be bridging themselves. Freese is that for 3B with Cowart. If they trade Trumbo, I'd say they're planning on Kendris back here. Which, is all the more reason to trade Trumbo. Last year close to this time, I suggested the Halos sap the Astros with some of those prospects they received from deals over recent seasons. I'm returning to it for this year, as well. Trumbo and Kendrick themselves showed to hit Minute Maid pretty well last season, perhaps looking that much more attractive to the desparate-for-bats Astros. DiPoto can, with clever scouting, leverage for quite the deal from the Astros for Kendrick and Trumbo together, where they could get Altuve as part of it, the nearly ready intriguing arm, and perhaps another prospect in return depending on that arm. I would like to have seen DiPoto maybe throw Bourjos in toward working for the bigger deal with them, but they needed a bridge 3B man too, so maybe Shuck instead, I don't know.
  23. Blow up the Buttercup song for Maroon 5 "Wake Up Call" and see what that will do, against the Astros of all teams. How's that for T-analogy?
  24. Yes, trying to post from a smartphone...another nightmare. The site changed and I registered with HT, but to Facebook that I didn't want to link. So, I have the new name.
