I agreed with leaving Blanton in with a short hook and putting in Roth. Shoudl've left Roth in.
Yeah, and as soon as blanton gives up a homer you are jumping down Scioscia' s throat.
-
If Scioscia is such a genius, explain the DeLaRosa situation.
You are joking, right?
-
Putting Hamilton in the five spot = his first four hit game of the season.

Effing bull pen!

Very few people actually wanted him back, but some were angry because he had indicated he would bring the offer to the Rangers and allow them to match it. The reason most of them were mad is because it was another lie, not because it meant he wasn't coming back. We saw him use an approach to the plate for 3 months last year exactly the same as what he's done in his Angels career so far. ...and many of us believe that he is not smart enough to ever figure out how to make an adjustment to being pitched 6 inches low and off the plate. That and he's a complete human piece of dog trash.
Apparently that is up for debate, because your own GM confirmed after he signed with us that he had never received such a promise from Hamilton. Get with the facts.

He's had three starts.i'll take Williams in any role over Blanton if Joe serves up nothing but bombs again in his next start.
My patience is wearing thin. Not the guy I studied. Not the guy I thought we were getting to give us quality starts and eat innings.
-
He needs to get a fancy doc to shoot him up with a cortisone shot and stfu. Dude is making the big bucks. Suck it up.

The Angels were very lucky in the first inning.
All the way through the grand salami.

I send mixed signals so that I can easily hop on either bandwagon. Pitchforks and fist waving for losing, high praise and shouts of greatness for winning.
Which other bandwagon? Potential dodgers fan when they start to win again?
-
How many times in your life have you EVER seen an opposing pitcher actually WANT to pitch to the clean-up hitter with one out and the winning run on 2nd base? C'mon, the Mendoza Line is rock bottom, not a GOAL. Sit him for the Texas series.
How many times are you going to paste this into multiple threads?

The marine layer didn't do **** against the A's the last time Blanton was pitching, only the Angels' hard hit balls died on the warning track
The only Angel I consistently saw that from in this series was Hamilton. His shots died at the warning track.

Looking back to 2011, it was 1 HR through 17 games with a .318 average. He only had 25 homers that year but knocked out 42 last year.
-
Um last year he started off looking like a lock for the MVP.
No kidding.
-
Just looking at his stats through 17 games last year, he had 8 home runs and a .408 average. Guess last year wasnt as slow. I figure new team and stadium are the culprits, I hope.
-
My relatives in Dallas told me not to worry as he always starts slow. I know he'll turn it on, but wow when he's bad, hes really bad.
-
Jerome Williams. I was hoping he break the starting rotation. I don't think I can handle Blanton or Vargas any longer
I hope he stays away from the rotation. He does better out of the pen. Why fix it if it ain't broken?

...and its crickets in here, except some DFA Hamilton posts.
We actually looked pretty damn good this weekend, even without Hamilton producing, do I think that means this season is going to magically turn around? Nope
But give credit where its due, we won games against a really good team, had pretty good starting pitching, pretty good bullpen, and production from "most" of our lineup.
Great job Halos keep it up!
You don't think the season will turn around but then you say good job. Glad you aren't my life coach.

Um no...the Fox broadcasters would have been on their knees for any of the Tigers...Almost everything the Angels did was attributed to "luck"
I say "Yo momma", that's right!
-
All around well played. No errors, great balanced offense, Hanson set the tone. I'd like to see Hamilton do more.
-
Awesome. Time to pick up a new reliever for Cyclops.

Makes Callaspo a potential trade piece.

My guess is you've never been faced with reporters questioning your job status like Butcher has. My guess is that you are projecting how think you would feel or respond to a situation you have never been remotely close to.
Again, you're making way too much about his comments.
And your guess would be wrong. You are a presumptuous blowhard.
-
Just out of curiosity -- Do you really think his comments have ANY impact on ANYTHING? Would you somehow feel better about the situation if he took blame for pitchers pitching exactly the way their skill set's say they would or is it just a case of you wanting him to take blame for things to validate your opinions?
Look, I'm not a fan of Butcher's, but outside of Chili Davis and Dave Duncan, I'm not a fan of coaches as a whole. Butcher has a bunch of guys who have always given up a lot of fly balls and HRs. Early on they have given up a lot of fly balls and HRs... Outside of reinventing who they are he's pretty much got to stay the course and they have to pitch to their ability.
BTW, Fernando Rodney is looking like the Rodney everyone had seen prior to last year.. He has a WHIP near 2.00 and an ERA over 7.00. Is he back to being Fernando Rodney? Does that pitching coach need to be fired? Is he pitching to his talent level or is it just early and he is working out the kinks?
Somehow someone will take this post as a defense or Butcher.
I don't know if they have an impact or not. All I know is, if I were trying really, really hard (now stay with me here) to fix the pitching...and still getting the results we are seeing game after game, I'd be a little stressed and maybe think about it while trying to sleep. One thing is for sure, I wouldn't be so glib about it when speaking with the media and that's the point. It's very telling.
Look, I have defended Butcher for a while now, but this makes it harder to do. You don't lounge around in your easy chair with the house on fire. What I don't understand is how his comment can be defended. There's just no defense for saying something so damn stupid.
Scioscia Is a genius!
