  1. Beat the Panthers. Dubnyk was not terrible, Arcobello scored his first two well deserved goals. We can beat AHL competition. This is good, seeing that the Oil are indeed an AHL level organization.
  2. I've got nothing. Just wanted to bump this.
  3. Hopefully Lovie. That's who I want. I honestly believe the only Gruden they would hire would be Jay Gruden. I wouldn't be opposed to that in the event Lovie takes the USC job. Either way, Schiano has to go and it needs to happen as early as possible. I don't care if the Bucs somehow win today, he's gotta go.
  4. Well, hopefully this is the week. Mark Dominik should do it Pat Haden style but take it to the next level. After the game, at the airport, Dominik should ask to see Schiano's boarding pass. Then he should tear it up, throw it on the ground, and give him an Amtrak pass back to Jersey.
  5. This is the team those Flyers fans deserve. Terrible and a bunch of goons, just like them.
  6. First time I've watched a favorite team and ended the night ecstatic in MONTHS!!! Awesome debut by Michael Carter-Williams. Also, this: http://d3j5vwomefv46c.cloudfront.net/photos/large/818591455.gif?1383175150
  7. Believe me Tank part of me would have much rather been choking myself while... uh... choking myself.
  8. Every year I think to myself "It can't be as bad as last year. There's just no way." And every goddamn year, it is. The death march to the end of another failure of a season commences earlier each and every year. And until they quit with this patchwork defense and signing dudes like Ference to contracts twice what they're worth it will never change. Ever. And these kids, the supposed saviors of this wretched franchise need to learn to backcheck. Poor Richard Bachman never stood a chance tonight. I don't want to watch anymore but at this point I've already wasted so much time over the years that I'm all in. At least I can still remember being a happy 9 year old back in 1990. Fire Lowe. A poster named strangelybrown in a Copper and Blue game thread said it best: "Two life lessons that being an Oilers fan has taught me: 1. How to love something that doesn’t deserve my love. 2. That there is a kind of faith that hopes even when one cannot muster belief. Thanks Oilers."
  9. Agreed, OEL looks like he's gonna be a yearly Norris Trophy candidate. Wishful thinking on my part .
  10. Fantastic effort in net by Richard Bachman tonight. He's earned another start before they send him back to Oklahoma City, in my opinion.
  11. I didn't think I could respect Demarcus Ware any more than I already do, but the way he took Dez by the jersey and got him under control a bit shows what a respected leader he is.
  12. Listen, Brandon at this point he could be Dennis Dixon and I think it would be an improvement over Glennon.
  13. We Buc fans are more than happy to have you around to discuss some NFC South football, Canadian Halo! Congrats on the win and getting above .500. Just my thoughts but from his interviews and actions it looks like Cam has really matured as a leader on your team. Dude is a ton of fun to watch I know that much. I'm glad Bill Sheridan finally decided to key Revis on the opposition's best receiver. Steve Smith was largely quiet, with the exception of the times he was lined up on the opposite side of the field from Revis. Apparently Sheridan has no idea how to combat the opposition lining their best weapon up on the opposite side of the field. Mike Tolbert's TD celebration was hilarious. As far as the draft, I'd be thrilled with either Mariota or Bridgewater. If the draft were today I'd go with Mariota. He's an inch taller, but more importantly in my eyes he's got more weight on him and thus might be able to withstand more punishment. Like I said though, I will be thrilled with either.
  14. I feel so bad for Dan Orlovsky. He could be a member of a second 0-16 team. Whoever the interim coach is should put him in next week in Seattle and let him run out of the back of the end zone for old times' sake.
  15. Tonight I had the Oilers game on my iPad and the Buccaneers on the TV. It was like watching two snuff films at once.
  16. Got my pitchfork. Lighting my torch. Who's up for a good firing? This time tomorrow I predict Butch Davis, Dave Wannstedt or Mike Sullivan will captain this football Costa Concordia for the rest of the season. In the meantime Mark Dominik better let Lovie know that he can start assembling a coaching staff....
  17. Poor Josh. Now I know how Tebow fans felt.
  18. Sad that he's gonna be remembered as much for moving the Houston Oilers as he will for being a pioneer. Co-founder of the AFL.
  19. Taylor Hall goes down Saturday in the Oilers game, Doug Martin Sunday in the Bucs game. To unleash this kind of long-term misery, I must have been the original Philadelphia style fan in a past life. Maybe in Roman times I threw D battery shaped rocks at people being tossed to the lions.
  20. According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, Doug Martin has a torn labrum. I just.... I hope Josh throws six TD's tonight.
  21. Well coached team. Well coached. The NFLPA investigation of the Freeman medical records leak can't be completed soon enough so we can move on from this clown Schiano.
  22. My dream scenario would be a deal sending Nail Yakupov to Phoenix for Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Doubt PHX would bite on that though. Don Maloney is one of the best GMs in the league.
  23. Oilers win!!!! Oh wait.... Taylor Hall left with a knee injury and did not return. Because Oilers. And I strongly doubt the Oilers will deal for Miller (plus the no-trade clause). Certainly they won't deal Yakupov for a rental goalie. Dubnyk will be fine. I like Miller but those rumors don't make sense for the Oilers. Maybe if Steve Tambellini were still GM he'd be dumb enough to do it.
  24. Taylor Hall is amazing. Dubnyk played well. The defense is terrible. That's all I got.
  25. I can't believe Peyton Manning is an Eagle and nobody told me.... wait.... that was Nick Foles? Fantastic. That zone coverage is working out great. Glad they didn't let Revis play man coverage on DJax all day. Don't need DeSean shut down, or at least contained for the most part,do we? Greg Schiano gem of the week: "I believe it's a well-coached football team. Not well enough. There are certain things we have to get done consistently. We'll get this done in one game and this done in another game, but we're not getting it all together. That may frustrate some. But I'd tell ya if I didn't think we were doing a good job. We need to be better. So obviously it starts with me, goes through my assistant coaches and then through every player on the team." But it's a well coached team, Greg!!! You know what? I'm gonna take a turned page out of Scioscia's book and tip my cap to Greg Schiano. It takes the balls of a brass donkey to coach a talent-filled roster to an 0-5 record and state that it's well coached.
