A garbage bag full of grocery bags! Kind of like Russian Nesting Dolls... only they're... bags

    Expired Food!

Hold up, looks like some oatmeal cookie mix in there, I may have to grab that.

Upright Piano!!! It has "Ben Tooned." I can only assume that Ben Tooned is a pianist that is included with the piano.

That was way more fun than I expected.

  2. The Nhl should rush to pass a change to the Draft rules. No way should the Oilers be allowed another 1st overall this year.

I agree. I was actually embarrassed when they won the lottery last year because the Lowe/MacTavish regime did nothing to deserve that lottery win. Fortunately they were quickly disposed of by Bob Nicholson but yeah... another no. 1 pick would be ridiculous. I often wonder how Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and Yakupov would've fared on other teams. Hall would be an absolute superstar anywhere else.

I mean look at what getting away from the Oilers in just the past four years did for guys like Andrew Cogliano, Tom Gilbert, Jeff Petry, Devan Dubnyk.... alright I have to stop before I set myself on fire.

  3. The Sixers have just set a record for the longest losing streak in the history of the four major American professional sports leagues. 27 straight losses, which surpasses the 1976-1977 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-26 franchise start. YAY, SPORTS. I need a new hobby.

  4. I'd rather see them try to move Eberle but yeah Draisaitl's name has been mentioned as a potential trade chip.

McDavid left tonight's game in the 2nd with a shoulder injury. His arm is in a sling. Well, that was a fun couple weeks. I guess I'll have that Montreal win to look back fondly on...

  5. Nuge with the beautiful feed off a Hall chip in to Draisaitl for the game winner! I ran around my apartment like it was Game 7 of the Final! I love Hall. I love McDavid. I love Talbot. I love Nuge. I love Yak. I love Nurse. I love Davidson. I love Pouliot. I love Lander. I love Klefbom. I love this team. I love hockey and all of you who let me rant like an idiot in my own little thread here and stop by to talk about the Edmonton Oilers. This isn't a playoff team but that's ok! Hockey is fun again 😊

  6. Between Draisaitl, Nikitin and Scrivens, the Bakersfield Condors should be pretty solid in the AHL.

Anyway, Thursday my boys open up in St. Louis. Fourth line and depth at defense are still pretty brutal, but if Cam Talbot can be what he was with the Rangers (I know, it's not very likely), they might have the start of something here. Sekera and Gryba are nice additions and it would be nice if Justin Schultz' camp and preseason carries over and he FINALLY isn't a freaking road cone on skates out there. All I really want is meaningful hockey to watch beyond January. And for McDavid to not get murdered out there.

Within two years I hope to be able to start a new Oilers thread. Here's to a new season of hope!

  7. I was extremely saddened to read about this. I started following motor sports in 1988 when I was 7 years old, so I only saw Buddy Baker race a couple Daytona 500's and the occasional superspeedway race. However, he was always my favorite color commentator and the CBS Sports announcing team of Buddy, Mike Joy, and host Ken Squier is in my opinion the best team NASCAR has ever had.

  8. The NHL's expansion fee is substantially more than the relocation fee. Bettman has done everything to keep that franchise in Phoenix. Also consider that Auston Matthews, the likely no.1 prospect going into next season is from Scottsdale, AZ. Perhaps they see this thing through and hope the ping pong balls bounce right.

  9. I hate flying and sometimes pop a xanax before getting on a plane. But I am oddly fascinated with the history behind jet crashes.

I absolutely love flying but I do have that same morbid fascination with aviation crashes. I often do research on crashes and then spend hours looking at pics of the plane when it was intact, etc. I also love reading about the history of airlines and which companies have merged, the whys and hows. I have no knowledge of the ins and outs of the technical side of planes but I greatly enjoy looking at all aircraft whether it's actual aircraft or simply pictures.

My favorite livery was the blue and green Air Florida scheme. I have a 1953 Piper Tri-Pacer in a traditional tattoo styling as part of my sleeve and had it done in a blue and green scheme as a nod to that livery.

I drink out of a Piedmont Airlines mug at work. Ok, that's my story about liking aviation.

  10. Apparently Mike Babcock has been given permission to talk to other teams. Give him a call, BucBrett.

My buddy is a Blues fan and suggested this trade: Blues send Oshie and Pietrangelo to the Oilers for the first pick. Would you consider it?

Absolutely not. With all the changes made this offseason there's zero chance of them trading that pick. The season ticket package the organization sent out is the Oiler logo on a draft lottery style golden ticket, and Todd McLellan is already discussing coaching McDavid so the Oilers pretty much consider McDavid an Oiler already.
