    Not gonna lie....I'm starting to develop a huge mancrush on Joe Blanton.

    Blanton has been my favorite pitcher for the past 6-7 years or so and I was literally jumping for joy when we got him, but I'm starting to have second thoughts. I still think he turns it around and becomes one of the best pitchers on the staff that we've seen in a while.

    This is one of the reasons Dipoto made the Morales trade. We'd have a huge dilemma with the DH spot if Morales was still on this team.

    As bad as this year's start was, last year's was probably worse. Weren't we 6-14 at one point? Pujol's poor start last year was also probably a bit worse than Hamilton's. At least Hamilton has a couple of HR's at this point. That being said, this team has still been an embarrassment up unto this point of the season.

    I don't see why you guys are so down on Blanton. The answer is obvious. He's still one of the best pitchers in baseball. He may have started slowly, but we should be VERY lucky to have him. You guys think he'll want to stay after his contract is up if everyone keeps blasting him?

    Yeah, one thing I never was a fan of was Dipoto's whole "flyball pitcher + great outfield defense = winning combination" idea. Having that combo can be a little bonus, but it's not something you should build around or rely on. Bottom line is, you need pitchers that are good, regardless of their pitching style. Blanton is not that.
