  1. Angels haven't been at .500 since 1961. It was the second game in franchise history and we've been a losing franchise ever since. Until now!
  2. I'd ask for a signed photo of me with him an the HR ball. I'd really hope the Angels organization isn't so cheap as to only give the fan who caught it a hat. I don't care how big a piece of baseball history a HR ball is, it still takes a lot of generosity and sacrifice from a fan to simply give away an item they rightfully own that is worth thousands of dollars.
  3. That's the only thing in this topic I'd disagree with. As bad as it's going for us, it's 5x worse for Dodger fans. They are the only fanbase I truly feel sorry for.
  4. Am I the only one that thinks Blanton has ace potential?
  5. You've got it backwards. Fans of NYY and BOS expect their teams to win a WS every year BECAUSE they are perennial contenders, NOT the other way around. If we Angel fans change our "attitudes", that's not going to make our players play any better. Arte is already a committed owner and has tried his best to put a winner on the field. It just hasn't worked out.
  6. Is anyone else absolutely ****ing in their pants at the thought of facing Big Joe? As a former Angel, he has all the makings of embarassing our pansy asses and raping us until we scream and tap out.
  7. I'd be happy with a playoff appearance. As others have pointed out, what happens in the playoffs is largely a crapshoot. In baseball, being hotter is more important than being better come playoff time. Baseball isn't like basketball - there are too many ups and downs in the sport of baseball for a 7-game series to accurately decide who is a better team. I've always felt the true measure of how good a team is over time is how many times they make the playoffs, not how many championships they won. Just look at a franchise like the Florida/Miami Marlins, hah.
  8. He may not have been a good pitcher, but no know can deny what an incredibly sexy man Joe is.
  9. At least he wasn't totally worthless. From what I hear he was a hit with the female fans. You know what they say about guys with big ERAs.....
  10. I'd rather have Blanton off the Angels than discover the cure for cancer. I'd wish the rebirth of Hitler and a Nazi takeover of America than to see Blanton on the Angels again. Not joking.
  11. Is anyone else really bummed by this news? He may have had a down year, but when he's on he's without question one of the absolute best pitchers in baseball. I was hoping he could have an Ervin Santana like year and lead our rotation. I must admit, my excitement for the season just took a big hit with this horrible management decision. Blanton did the Angels a huge favor when he signed for a relative bargain price of only 2 years and 15 million. I'm sure he could have gotten much more, but he wanted to play for the Angels. And this is how we repay his loyalty? Jerry Dipoto, GTFO.
  12. Game over. One of the most heart-wrenching losses I've seen in a while. I seriously can't believe it.
  13. Things are just bigger in Texas. Over these past couple of years, I've come to realize that Texas is just a superior state to California, especially Southern California. If we want a better baseball team, Southern Californians should try to act more Texan-like.
