  1. Was able to turn the game on right before Wilson's botched throw back to the pitcher, and that was an hour ago!  Craziest inning of baseball I've ever seen.

    Wow.... just wow.

Edit: I meant Martin's throw.  Don't know why I was thinking Russell Wilson.

  2. As I wrote in another thread, with the exception of the ability to hit home runs, this is Sosh's worst offensive team he's ever had.  Worst in batting average, lowest OBP, fewest runs scored, and fewest stolen bases.

The total number of unnecessary outs on base is actually one fewer than last season, so I doubt that's a primary reason.  The 176 home runs they hit is also their third most during Sosh's tenure, so they obviously hit a lot of solo shots.

  3. Fantasy sports is gambler vs. gambler. It is absolutely a game of skill because the better players are going to make the better choices based on statistical probabilities than inferior players. While luck is involved in each individual match up and in each week over the long haul, the better player will win.

    So exactly like poker, yeah?

That's pretty much what I'm confused about.  Why is poker then classified as a non-skill game and considered straight up gambling?  Makes no sense unless you consider the level of cheating potential involved, which is something I don't believe they can take into consideration when classifying these forms of gaming.

  4. With all the Draft Kings commercials on television lately, I've been wondering why it's perfectly okay to play online fantasy sports but it's highly illegal to play online poker, especially when you have zero control over the outcome/results of the players (lineups) you're basically betting on in fantasy sports.

Here's an article that came out just the other day on the topic and I was just wondering how others around here felt about fantasy sports vs online poker (or even poker in general) as far as skill and/or luck required for each game.  I just don't see how they can classify fantasy sports as a "skill" game.

PS  This guy in the comments section going by the name 'historyspeaks10' says poker requires zero skill and says he knows what he's talking about because he's been playing poker for 46 years!  And then he offers this little nugget: "as someone that's cashed twice in WSOP events, including a 3rd place finish, as well as winning and cashing in tournaments all over the world, i can tell you there is more luck involved than anything else. positive thinking and attitude will benefit you more at gambling than anything else."

    Lol.

  5. Trop has two more scheduled starts which also includes the final game in Texas.

Maybe they want to pitch Latos in the last game against Oakland, moving everyone down one spot in the rotation, and pull Weaver for the remainder of the regular season?

    Oakland series:

    Santiago

    Tropeano

    Latos

    @ Texas:

    Richards

    Heaney

    Santiago

    Tropeano

  6. that's hilarious.

as someone with a 1908 victorian house, the idea is cute.

    but these people are idiots.

reminds me of one of my fav shows all time - did anyone ever watch Frontier House?

was like a family goes and has to live just as they did on a frontier in like 1880.

f*cking A when it was on i couldn't turn away.

That's the first thing/show that came to my mind when reading this.  That show was addicting to watch.

Why do I get the feeling the people in this article are vegetarians?
