  1. I'm sorry, I missed the part where you offered a response.
  2. Going to the DMV and wasting 3 hours of my life while nothing gets done.
  3. I'm willing to bet most of the failed contracts involved players over the age of 30, correct? Giving players over 30 a contract exceeding three or four years is just plain ludicrous.
  4. I think that is a reasonable prediction. I wouldn't crap my pants though if he finishes with an .850 OPS though. Below that, and I might begin to worry...
  5. I think it's inevitable that Trout is going to regress. How much though is anybody's guess. I don't say this as an attack, my point is that it's difficult for ESTABLISHED players to maintain the type of season Trout had last year. The best players who ever played the game have (or had) trouble maintaining a .963 OPS. How can any reasonable person expect Trout to hit .326 again with 30 HR's and 49 SB's? Scioscia or Eppard should not be fired for Trout declining, but there's so many OTHER reasons to can Scioscia it's not even funny.
  6. Honest question about Eppard. After being promoted, was he instructed to carry out Mickey Hatcher's old hitting philosophies by Mickey's old pal? My inclination says yes.
  7. He buys so much beef, his butcher, Mike Butcher, throws in a free book of cliche excuses for the working professional. The 2nd Edition just came out last December.
  8. That doesn't have any significance between security (or APD) is neither judge or jury.
  9. That's the point I was making before. You don't have to show law enforcement (APD in this case) your ID if you've done nothing wrong and are simply minding your own business. California is not what's called a "stop and identify" state. Cops ask people for ID all the time hoping people are ignorant of the law. The problem with telling security (or APD) your name is that that information could be added to a "banned" list so you can't purchase tickets ever again...
  10. My bad, I missed that reply. You answered my question with a question. Just because CSC asks for your ID doesn't necessarily mean you should comply -- unless the rules say you must. They're not cops and sadly, so many people don't know the difference.
  11. I'm not doubting this at all...my question was whether somewhere in the ticket rules you are obligated to provide positive ID to a rent-a-cop security guard?
  12. Is this in the ticket rules that you have to show ID?
  13. What do you mean they took down your ID? Was this CSC security or the Anaheim Police? If you've truly done nothing wrong, you're not obligated to show ID in California.
  14. What percentage of single moms on dating sites are really looking for a bank account to draw from?
  15. Yes it's early, but we're following the exact same pattern from earlier underachieving seasons. I guess they want to fall 10 games back by month's end again? Not even Hamilton can rescue them from that. April games matter a lot.
  16. He has to leave his "stamp" on every game. God forbid letting the players do their thing when they're playing well.
  17. Jepsen's brother Jepsen's sister Jepsen's second cousin thrice removed
  18. You know how the east coast fans will bitch and moan though...and despite what MLB says, I think they will do whatever it takes to preserve the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry as it generates a lot of revenue for everybody involved.
  19. Why are you quoting fewer win totals than last year though? I think people are forgetting how much the realignment changes the AL West. Until this year, AL West rivals played each other 20-21 times (instead of 18 this season) because we lacked a fifth team. The remaining 10-12 "surplus" games had to be played against AL Central and AL East teams, none of which sucked as bad as Houston does. What this means from now on is that the AL West has traded extra games against teams like the Red Sox, Yankees, Tampa Bay, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Kansas City, etc with games against the Astros. So there's no excuse not to maintain win totals like those from 2012 -- even if the Angels/A's/Rangers slump a bit.
  20. You know what I worry about though? If indeed both wildcards come from the AL West -- again, because of Houston -- people will be crying foul that the system unfairly benefits the AL West. At that point, Bud Selig might take away the second wildcard spot in future years.
