If they would have asked the kid why he brought it, kid would have said he wanted to show his science teacher or whoever the hell he brought it to show, they would have verified that the science teacher was shown it earlier in the day, they tell the kid that he should have left it in the classroom next time, end of story. But instead, cops gets called, handcuffs get put on, he gets interrogated at the station, and ultimately treated like a criminal. A nerdy ass freshman in high school gets treated like a criminal.
