  1. So it looks like the Cosart could pitch a perfecto tonight and Richards could end up striking out 20 Astros. The Richards scenario is much more probable, of course.
  2. I'm looking forward to the 2022 season, when Pujols, Hamilton, Trout AND Scioscia are all gone and our farm system will be replenished.
  3. Not in a million years. I'll hold my nose and vote for Kashkari.
  4. He's a banker and a government functionary, which is even worse than a politician. Kashkari administered the $700 Billion TARP bailout of the banks in 2008, the same banks that created the financial mess. Taxpayers had to clean it up.
  5. Kashkari doesn't have a chance in November. Brown will win reelection easily. Donnelly was the only true conservative in the primary. Kashkari is a liberal posing as a moderate.
  6. It's just insane. Scioscia left him in there in the 6th against the Astros' lefty reliever Downs when he was hitting .040 against lefthanders. .040 batting average with an OPS of .218 and he's got Cron and Green on the bench who are hitting 300 points better against lefties. INSANE.
  7. Little silver lining here with Bedrosian making his ML debut. And he K's his first hitter! 94 mph fastball at the knees!
  8. Ibanez now 1-for-26 vs lefthanders. Why wasn't he lifted there for a pinch-hitter?!?! This is insane.
  9. Cy McHugh is gone finally. Maybe we have a chance now.
  10. Raul is almost locked in. He should be there by August. Be patient!
  11. That's what I would do. The naysayers on this board think Green would make a terrible defensive 3rd baseman, though.
  12. We had better win the next two games in this series, that's all I have to say right now.
  13. Two years later, at age 39, Ruth finished the season with a .985 OPS. Yeah, Foxx "cooled off the rest of the way" in 1932 but still finished with 59 HR, 151 Runs, and 169 RBI.
  14. So on June 3rd, Jimmie Foxx is batting .415 with an OPS of 1.387 and 55 RBI. Are you kidding me?!
  15. A total of 36 hits and 14 walks in that game, and it took less than three hours.
  16. His team leader said he walked off, ended up in a village two miles away, and was seeking someone who spoke English so he could talk to the Taliban. That's not good anyway you spin it. http://thelead.blogs.cnn.com/2014/06/03/team-leader-bowe-bergdahl-wanted-to-talk-to-taliban/
  17. Lou Gehrig becomes the first player in the modern era to hit four home runs in a game. He almost had a fifth, but Al Simmons of the A's made a great catch at the wall of his 450-foot drive to dead center to rob him in his last at-bat. Tony Lazzeri also hit for the cycle in this game, and it's the only time a natural cycle (single, double, triple, home run in that order) has been done ending in a grand slam. Yankees beat the A's, 20-13 in Philadelphia's Shibe Park. About 5,000 were on hand. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/PHA/PHA193206030.shtml
  18. Hamilton, 5 home runs. Easy. No one's ever done that. Gehrig came close. Al Simmons made a great catch at the wall of his 450-foot drive to center in his last at-bat. Lou settled for four home runs. That happened exactly 82 years ago today.
  19. As of 10 AM this morning, 3% of L.A. County voters had actually voted.
  20. In the 6-spot this year, Raul is hitting a robust .188
  21. One of my favorite players as a kid growing up in Philadelphia was Cookie Rojas, Victor's dad.
