i know you weren't taking a dig - no worries .I concur. I wasn't taking a dig at you or anything.

well I am a professional musician - yet not a drug user - strange huh ? I respect my job and although its a fun job I treat it like I would any job and I don't use drugs . Why ? Because although I don't get tested for drugs by the booking agents and venues I play i am aware that using drugs is unprofessional and I consider myself a professional - one that has a fun job .Stripper, hooker, musician, stock broker...
Josh is a highly paid professional who has a fun job too - except he makes way more money than I do - I'd expect him to treat his hugely high paying job with the same or more dignity than I treat my job - that's my point

I side with the Angels and Arte here - if I were Arte I'd be pissed - give a guy millions of dollars to play a game that he loves- he then plays like crap - ok so you deal with that and continue to support him , Scioscia keeps him in the lineup even when his play hadn't warranted a start in the playoffs .
Then he decides to break his agreement and turn back to drugs - it's a slap in the face - I do believe that the Angels won't get to void his contract even though it should be allowed .
How many jobs can you keep while being a known drug user ?

Cj rocked tonight ! One game At a time - hopefully he builds a strong season - maybe that awful game vs KC to end our season last year lit a fire for him to come back and do well
-
I was at this game - the bees settled about 3 sections from our seats - pretty crazy - first thing I think Is " why is David Freese running off the field ? Why are all the players running off the field " it really was a lot of bees . Glad they got it taken care of - it was about 3 innings before the bee keeper got there .
Things I learned - say what you will about Sosh but the man doesnt fear a mass of bees - he stayed in his usual seat

As long as he still has a beard I'm cool

So cool ! I'm looking forward to ST

hopefully he realizes that one of the big teachings of his faith is not to steal - if he doesn't try his hardest to earn the money he makes - he's pretty much stealing - I'm not saying that if he doesn't go .300,30,100 that he's stealing but he really should be spending this offseason trying to improve his game. Of course I don't know him personally and I have no idea of his offseason routine - I hope he is working hardI hear what you're saying but maybe his faith is more important than baseball to him. I'm OK with that. Now whether the Angels should have even signed him is a whole other issue.

wow - he said that ? Well I hope he follows through - I guess it would be worse if he said " I'm thinking I'll go .235 , 12 , 65" this yearJosh Hamilton's personal goals haven't changed, even though expectations from the outside have plunged. "I'm gonna say .300, 30 and 100," Hamilton said Sunday night, referencing his batting average, home run and RBI totals when asked about his own expectations for 2015. "Keep it simple. Those are very obtainable."

interesting that you mention Hamilton and his biblical quotes - he posts verses on his Facebook page almost daily and usually the responses are " that's great but you need to take BP " or " maybe Jesus can teach you how to hit again " - keyboard courage kind of things . I understand that his faith is important to Josh and I hope he is working hard in the offseason to improve his playing - it's the right thing to do.The greatest thing is ARod never said he was trying to improve his image. A writer decided to spin the story that way because he was working with Bonds. Guy has f'd up but he can't win. Critics were ready to pounce on him for being crappy and stealing his final 61 mil. At least the guy is having what appears to be a busy off-season. Think about that the next time you see Pujols at a charity golf tournament, Hamilton quoting the bible, or Mathis handing out bubble gum.

a horse is a horse of course of course ..... Book 2 in the series"Fifty Shades Of Hay"
- the John Lackey story.

I agreeBy the way, it goes without saying that if you haven't read any of the Rob Goldsman baseball books, such as Once They Were Angels and Nolan Ryan, they are an absolute must read.

Rutledge over Green ? i m thinking i need to read up on Rutledge - what does he bring to the table ?
-
i love "once they were angels " also "the bad guys won" about the 86 Mets
-
i loved the Anaheim jersey - with all the retro /throwback jerseys they sell and players wear these days its a shame that we will probably never see this jersey again
-
Vlad was also one of the few big FA signings we have had that truly delivered and performed well ( take notes Josh )
-
Dipoto is good for this team for sure - I like the direction things are going in . its been a boring offseason from a hot stove angle but who cares - hot stove victories in the past haven't translated to a WS ring .
-
Vlad should go in as an Angel - Expos have Gary Carter (should have gone in as a Met being that his greatest moments came in NY) - I think vlad is a hall of famer for sure - maybe that one day contract retirement thing helps - maybe not - regardless it was pretty cool to watch (except for Baylor's injury of course)
-
I agree too - short leash for sure - im glad it seems like we have some pitching depth

I think the 2015 team is a 90 plus win team and I think a division win / playoff run is a strong possibility . I am maybe more concerned than the average fan about the loss of Kendrick both offensively and defensively . I get that he never won that batting title but his production will be missed - there really isn't anyone on the current roster that will put up his numbers in my opinion. Every time I hear " Hamilton better step up to replace Howie's numbers " I laugh , then cry a little.
I also think we have taken for granted how solid the combo of Kendrick / Aybar was up the middle . We are going to see a drop off if Green is our guy at 2b . I get that we needed young cost controlled pitching long term and the deal gave us that but this season I think we will miss Howie quite a bit
-
So is he going to be playing 2b in the minors ? has anyone heard - so far it's been all SS
-
ha! I like how they list it ... " mistress number 1, mistress number 2..." It just goes to prove my theory - guys who are multimillionaires do well with the ladies
-
Hope I'm wrong but I'm Thinking .235 14 Hrs kind of year - I hope he realizes that he has a job to do and that it is indeed an important one .
I don't know him personally obviously and I'm not able to read his mind - but it looks like he hasn't been working hard enough or focusing like he should . Maybe he is trying but it sure doesn't look like it
-
Sad to see Howie as a Dodger I'm still not good with this - I wish him the best

"I have no clue what he's talking about. ...He knew what the deal was when he signed me." And then he hid behind the Joint Drug Agreement.
Worst statement ever - no accountability - basically he was saying " Arte knew I was a drug addict so it was inevitable that I would relapse I couldn't help it ...." Awful
