  1. I haven't generally paid as much attention to the relief prospects we've had in the minors, until Morin/Cam/RJ. Have we had "no doubt" prospects like them recently that I missed?
  2. Interesting. I do have to say, apart from the "why not" reliever try outs that Dipoto has signed, most of his reliever picks have been pretty good. Going to hope this is another, and that maybe he thinks Alvarez's command is going to be a long term issue. Of course this dude has command issues too, but maybe he thinks they're more correctable...
  3. Even though it's on my TV I almost forgot the game was on ha
  4. While this is part snark, serious too: does Trevor Gott throw 97+? I know we have a fascination with those types. Overall just interested in knowing his arsenal as it seems the Angels think more of him than as just a throw-in.
  5. To your reply and Chuck's: This was honestly meant as a light hearted joke. Yes I dislike the trade (though I did make a post trying to see the bright side, too). I was implying that even things that look bad now can end up being blessings in disguise. I'm also familiar with the story about the Angels taking Trout after Grichuk to mess with their scout. Again, just a joke.
  6. Oh you mean that Teixeira trade that guaranteed us a WS? How'd that work out for us? Oh, wait, that was how we ended up with Trout? Carry on.
  7. And statistics generally come with error bars. Which would essentially make this a coinflip.
  8. Well technically he's correct. Uehara has a 2.32 career ERA vs 2.87 for Street and a .87 WHIP compard to 1.02 for Street. Both are good though
  9. Sure, and so was I. Until I saw the extreme cost to make it happen.
  10. Ok I still hate it. But, trying to consider this: Alvarez - almost certainly the real deal, but giving up a reliever in a trade is hard to really get TOO upset over. Rondon - good defense at short, yes. Are we sure that the bat is not a little bit of a mirage, though. So far he had a good season in rookie ball (any good prospect does) and is putting up strong stats in A ball, which we continually get told not to overreact to. And as far as speed goes, his 8 SB have come with 6 CS. Lindsey - our best organizational depth. Questionable defensively, and questionable plate discipline. Real power though (17 HR in that park in AA is no joke). Rose colored beer goggles?
  11. Yeah for once we're almost all united in agreement. If anything, that's something that should be celebrated!
  12. I've been a defender of his. This is indefensible.
  13. Just traded our future middle infield and future closer for 1.5 seasons of a closer. This is absolutely ****ing stupid. The prospect coming back better be damned good.
  14. Right now I swear, the mobile ad that goes with this thread is one asking if you have constipation, diarrhea or bloating. Never has targeted advertising been more apropos.
  15. I once sang along to buttercup. Disclaimer: this was after a few beers.
  16. They also smell like horseshit. Edit: oops sorry wrong thread. Edit #2: nope, right thread after all.
  17. You know what they always say, if the horseshoe fits...
  18. Getting frustrated with a player on a message board is one thing . Attacking them directly kinda sucks.
  19. Yeah that's why I said I saw that post. Misspelled saw as say hah
  20. Poor Cowgill. I busted my face two weeks ago, not as bad obviously, but still, it sucks.
  21. I say that post which is why I hesitated to do it, but the ump grabbed his junk twice while talking to Sosh. It'd make for a good gif if I knew how to make those. Handy for anytime an ump totally blows a call.
