  1. and he also died of natural causes, no disease like cancer to deal with.
  2. I'd like to punch that guy's face. I don't like him. Nunez or Moustakas.

  4. @tdawg87 how does Moustakas have bust written all over him? Guy has power (38 HR, .523 Slugging Pct.), is a left handed bat and hits (at least for average) as well against lefties than he does righties (.270 vs. .271). We need a legit cleanup hitter. Pujols needs to move his fat ass down in the order and unless we keep both Upton and sign a big bat like Moustakas, enjoy seeing Pujols bat in the cleanup position again next season. Oh and GOD no Yunel Escobar.
  5. I'm starting to think Nunez at 3B over Moustakas, or if I'm being greedy, Nunez for 2B and Moustakas for 3B. I'd also like to be done with Cron, and move into 2018 with Valbuena as our utility guy. Yes he's hit HR's, but he cannot hit above .200. Maybe the Angels give Thaiss a shot to win the 1B job out of ST? At least we'll get some doubles, some HR and a good OBP from our 1B. This would be an epic offseason IMO. 2B Nunez CF Trout LF Upton 3B Moustakas DH Pujols RF Calhoun SS Simmons C Maldonado 1B Thaiss - SP Richards SP Heaney SP Chatwood SP Shoemaker SP Skaggs, Barria, Ramirez, Bridwell & others to fight for this spot.
  6. While the Upton and Phillips trades were outstanding do any of you think that the results would have been different if we just got Verlander and kept with the Revere/Maybin and Pennington/Cowart platoons?
  7. That's it basically. We are 2-3 acquisitions away from being a legit AL West contender next season.
  8. I'll also say this... I respect the way the Dallas Cowboys approached this on MNF. Well done, Jerry Jones.
  9. Simmons' best p0rn performance to date!
  10. Really REALLY hope Upton stays, and I think he will. So I'm super stoked to hear he agrees with me that we need pitching help. We have depth, tons of options, but we need a pretty consistent guy or a top of the rotation starter (1 or 2 guy).
  11. Yeah honestly Ramirez has earned a spot over Skaggs. I'm starting to believe we should trade Skaggs back to Dipoto for Cano and Seager. I'm sure Jear will bite.
  12. @red321 Archie slept in his 5 x 4 cage last night that I got him with his large bed inside, blankets and a couple toys. No accidents overnight. 6.5 hours total. I walked him good before bed. He cried, whined and howled for almost an hour before passing out. Put him back in there today for 3 hours. So far so good. He went to the bathroom immediately outside when I took him out this morning. Then again before I left for work. The wife is home to watch him about 4-5 hours during the day, so that's good. I got rid of the pet diaper sheets as he was missing the mark inside the house on those anyway, plus it just gave him the greenlight on going to the bathroom in the house. One day at a time. It was hard to listen to him cry for an hour, but tough love right?
  13. I can see Chatwood coming back on the cheap being he grew up an Angels fan, he'd be coming back home... Plus the GM who traded him away is no longer here. I guess I'd be fine getting him if we load up on offense.
  14. Back to the topic at hand, if I'm Scioscia I'm telling Shoemaker, Skaggs, Heaney, Bridwell, Tropeano & even Barria to come to camp in Feburary prepared to battle for 3 remaining spots in the rotation, because we're adding a top of the rotation starter to pair with Richards. Get these guys to work hard in the offseason to land a starting job, not assume the job is theirs. Richards has looked extremely good after coming back. Good movement, better command and excellent velo. If we pair him with an Arrieta or Darvish, in addition to keeping Upton & adding a 3B or 2B, I think the Angels will be in great shape heading into 2018.
  15. If the Angels can also trade Cron & Sum Yung Gui for Justin Bour, I'd be really happy. Cron is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too streaky for me. I'm pretty much done with the guy.
  16. If we keep Upton, sign Moustakas and sign or trade for a true #1 or even solid #2, I'm fine with them getting creative in a trade for a 2B or give the job to Fletcher. I'd like for them to trade for Panik.
  17. We will have $$$ and honestly if Arte wants to win he's going to need to go above the luxury tax. Oh and, it's still not my money..
  18. Yep, I've come to the realization that we're done, so let's focus on the positives and hope some of these guys that we're counting on in 2018 finish this campaign on a solid note. I'll start. Watching Mile Trout, Andrelton Simmons and Blake Parker shine. Petit too outside of last week. Maldonado behind the plate. The HRs were gravy. Having Richards & Heaney come back, and Richards looking very good. Having a real good possibility of Justin Upton being our full time OF next season and for a few years after until our OF studs are ready. Knowing I don't have to watch Nolasco pitch for us EVER EVER AGAIN.. Some excitement down on the farm for the first time in a long time.. One year closer to Pujols retiring. Eppler & Arte giving us an indication that with $$$$ coming off the books that they're willing to spend this off-season to improve our chances going forward.
  19. Whether a FA signing or trade, we need a top of the rotation starter to lead the rotation ahead of Richards. I do not think that Heaney, Skaggs, Shoemaker and Bridwell should be solely counted on to fill out the rotation. Let one of those 4 compete for the final 3 spots in the rotation.
  20. No it's not, it's an adult discussion and so far it has been very civil. Oh posting a thread on a message board isn't politicizing professional sports. It's a topic for an online discussion, not a large platform like the NFL.
