Oh no a bruise season over lol, guys relax, it could be a light bruise
-
I hope being completely embarrassed wakes this team up, because going through the motions against Royals Rangers and Astros aint' cutting it. We're having humble pie tonight.
-
30 million dollars for that, nice 1b we have
-
Astros showed up to play us of course, this is ugly
-
Upton couldn't have thrown it much worse than that
-
Lol they tweaked Gubi and Mota's mic outputs, they sound really different
-
Wooo Cobb escaping the big inning!

Chris Rodriguez has pitched 10.1 innings
Mayers 9.2.
Mayers is a 29 year old veteran with three previous years of MLB full time experience. Chris Rodriguez previous experience was 3 innings in Inland Empire back in 2019.
Your statement about over using Mayers and then pulling Rodriguez too soon is a laughable troll job or you are simply not very bright. There is a good possibility you are not a troll.
But let's be clear, this is a thread about Rendon and not the relief corps. So, maybe you are a troll.
Can't even respond to a post outside of it's respective 'zone'? I guess if that makes me a troll then so be it.

Why not leadoff with Ohtani, since he's a lot faster?
Rendon has proven to get on base at a higher clip than Ohtani
Ohtani to me is a true cleanup hitter, at least 3 spot with his speed.
My groundbreaking lineup w/o Pujols:
1.Rendon R
2.Trout R
3.Ohtani L
4.Walsh L
5.Upton R
6.Fletcher R
7. Iggy/Rengifo R/L
8.Stassi/Suzuki R
9.RF R/L
Until we have a proven lead-off OBP guy with speed, this is what crazy me would roll with, that % of Ohtani batting with runner on is like 80%.
Fletcher still needs to prove he's an on base guy who works counts, 2 walks in 74 PA is a bad sign so far. That's only 16-17 walks in a season at this rate.

I can say with 100% confidence that Rendon will never be the leadoff hitter.
So even if Fletcher continues his trend, who do you want there instead? How is Rendon such a bad choice that you are 100% confident he won't bat lead off ever?
I wish we had more options, but Rendon lead off isn't a bad idea to begin with.

So if I am dumb, you are too for agreeing with me. Welcome aboard the dumb train.

Ok, you are just saying dumb stuff now. Trout in his last 162 games has something like 135 RBI. So he is an RBI guy, despite your ignorance.
I will argue Trout is better in the 2 spot, he can get on base and score more often with his speed than he would batting 3. Don't make my opinion your straw man, of course he can drive runs in, but I feel his ability to get on base and score runs outweighs his ability to drive runs in. It's a game of maximizing your players abilities and Trout is a true 2 hitter to me for that reason.

Ok. So we need a SS or a catcher that leads off. That lead off hitting SS or catcher needs to be better than Fletcher at leading off. Just a hunch that will be tough to find.
Rendon might be a viable option, Rengifo won't get enough opportunities with Rendon returning to prove himself, I am also doubtful he is that guy regardless. So currently as it stands, I would lead off with Rendon, then Trout 2, Ohtani 3, Walsh 4. etc. I know it looks weird but you got your best OBP guys leading off with the best opportunity to score, Trout really isn't an RBI guy.

you don't think Fletcher is a true leadoff hitter? If not, who in your mind is a true leadoff hitter that will be available, also what position will this true leadoff hitter play? To me the only spots that will be available will be SS and Catcher. Also $30 million isn't going to go far when you have virtually no starting pitchers outside of Canning, Barria and Sandoval after this season.
I don't know, true lead-off hitters are hard to come by these days. Fletcher needs to prove he can get on base like before, otherwise we're going to continue hitting solo homers.

Is it though? If we aren't going all in while Trout is still in his 20s, when will we?
Pujols is in his 50s though...

Wouldn’t hurt if he brought a reliable relief pitcher with him.....
Mayers had a 0.91 ERA before being overused by Maddon, sure he shouldn't have thrown a 1-2 meatball but mistakes happen when over using relievers. Pulling C-Rod when he hadn't given up a single hit was a mistake, Maddon needs to stop over managing and stick to the winning hands, this going against logic to look like a genius thing isn't working well.

Wait until Pujols is gone, frees up 1B for Walsh and 30MM to acquire a true lead-off hitter, SP and a closer. I don't expect much from this team currently, I hope they change my mind. The offense is good but not great yet. We also need Adell, Ward or Marsh to come through by next year.
Next season is truly the all-in year, no ifs ands or buts about it.

People think I'm a troll for saying Maddon blew the game? Tell me how he didn't?

You're mad, I'm glad.

Yeah we're in for a rough stretch, Rangers are a more cohesive unit right now.

It would be nice if we had a true leadoff hitter like Tony Phillips.
Fletcher doesn't walk so we have to count on his flares in the outfield finding some open real estate.
He used to walk but now he's swinging at anything close. His value was making the pitcher throw and then hitting late in the count or walking.

You were saying?
1-4 isn't a lead-off hitter is it?
