The crowd-surfing ending was lame as hell, but there was some good stuff this episode. Arya killing that guy was awesome. If her and the Hound spend all next season wandering the countryside killing Freys, I'm OK with that. The way the middle of the episode flowed from King's Landing to the Nightfort to The Twins to Theon to the Iron Islands was very good storytelling. We finally got to see some of the storylines intersect, with Sam meeting Bran followed by Jon making it back to Castle Black. I'm betting that Gendry fell out of the boat and we'll never see him again; it's just that kind of show. Stannis going North has potential to be epic. That's how the episode should have ended: with competing shots of his fleet sailing north and the Wildling army moving south.

Move: Signing Pujols Thought it was going to lead to great things. Shit. Move: Dumping Santana It was time for him to go. It was just too frustrating seeing him blow up in key innings. Move: Signing Blanton Hated it. I didn't see him as being an improvement over Santana in any way. Move: Acquiring Hanson I like it; I thought Hanson would have a bit of a career renaissance being back close to home. Move: Vargas for Morales Didn't like giving up Morales so soon after losing Hunter, but acknowledged that we needed to pitching help. Move: Signing Hamilton After the experience with Pujols in 2012, the last thing we needed was another potential letdown with a 30-something player. I was worried he would only hit .250; didn't imagine it would be this bad, though.

The Joe Blanton signing is shaping up to be the veritable dry ice bomb in Jerry DiPoto's trash can. It doesn't matter how good you've been at your job. You set off a dry ice bomb like that, you deserve to lose your job.
