Sorry Angel bros. Although Ohtani deserves every penny, this is a terrible contract for LAD.

Like I said, if Daniels trades for Arenado, it gets a lot more interesting.
I think the Frazier deal locked us in at 3B for 2020. Would love to get Arenado, but by signing the Toddfather, the FO waved the white flag on hunting down their third baseman...for now.

My comment was related to a Wild Card spot. Typically when four teams in a division go for it, at least one falls off. I think the Rangers are trying to compete for a WC spot, I’m just skeptical they’re quite good enough, although Arenado would make it very interesting for sure. I was not at all meaning that they’re going to suck like Seattle.
I'm on the same page now. I hear ya. Would honestly be a miracle if we're in the Wild Card conversation once September rolls around, but crazier things have happened!

My pick would be the Rangers. I see nothing that suggests that team should be competitive
How would you define competitive then? We'll be a 80-85 win team this year. There's almost no chance we'll win the division, but to say we won't be competitive is flat out naive. Solid rotation, half decent bullpen and some bright spots in the lineup. We won't be a great team by any means, but we'll scratch and claw.

@Stamm, congrats on all those Rangers, Aggies and Cowboys championships in the 2010s. Banners. Banners. . . everywhere.
Hey, thanks man. At least the Mavs got a 'ship in 2011??? Gotta hang your hat on something, right?

A very famous, whiny country music singer. Really talented, but his songs are ssslllllooooowwww.

Zero percent chance you'll get 'em! Gotta let the past remain in the past

Dang, a Stamm sighting. It's been a few years hasn't it?
Yeah, probably what...10 years or so? Accidentally stumbled into the forums today and figured I'd say hello to some old friends haha!

I hated the idea of going to Arlington stadium during the summer. The stadium itself is a good looking venue but the Texas summers are just brutal for out of state guys used to 85 degrees and a cooling marine layer in the evening. Last season I was booked to go to the Angels first road trip in Arlington but some catastrophic family health problems landed me in Montana during that week and I opted to give away my tickets in hopes of some karma. Maybe this years plans will work out.
Safe to say you'll probably see a win! Not too high on our current squad, but we'll see.

Did MLB share how they were cheating in detail, the methodology? Or did they just suspend them because of electronically stealing signs?
I did hear on the radio that MLB heard the rumors of the wearable technology that buzzes and investigated that but found no evidence. If you've got some time to kill, here's the full letter from Manfred: ASTROS BAN HAMMER

You see the new stadium, is it going to open on time? I was thinking of getting a person to cover for a week and go see the Angels play there on their first road trip after watching opening day at the Huston Asterisks stadium.
They'll be ready to go in time. They have a Chris Stapleton concert there on March 14th I think? Hated the idea of a new stadium at first, and the renderings were so similar to Minute Maid...it made me sick! But now that the ballpark is starting to take shape, it's got it's own unique feel. Prerty pumped. The A/C will be a nice upgrade for sure.

Stamm! For a while there we thought Mom took away the internet and forced you to get a job.
I don't know exactly how I ended up here this morning, but this forum definitely has me feeling nostalgic haha!

Everyone's on the cheating bandwagon right now, so why not drag the generational superstar through the mud as well? This whole "he cheated, they cheated, everyone cheated" is getting stupid. Ready to move on...when's Opening Day?

What does Stamm think of it?
Was honestly pretty bummed, but no big. Just glad we didn't suffocate ourselves with a massive Donaldson contract.
