  1. The issue is they didn’t trade him at the deadline 2022, not 2023. By the time we got to July 2023, not trading him was understandable. But to not trade him at the 2022 deadline is malpractice, since Arte was unwilling to match the top offer.
  2. You know the offseason is a drag when threads are being created to discuss the idiotic takes by two idiots, Alanna Rizzo and Ben Verlander.
  3. I think the team would be best off adding a starting outfielder AND a DH. Moniak and Adell on the bench. Moniak’s gonna regress. Adell is still a question mark.
  4. If you think the angels are going to win 65 games next year, you are being dumb and unserious.
  5. His fastball velocity isn’t gonna change because he’s throwing to major leaguers instead of players in Japan…
  6. And so… it’s not an indication of anything.
  7. I’d take Urshela for like $5M as a bench option. But I’m not guaranteeing him playing time or multiple years.
  8. If the Angels are going to spend $200M, it should be on something they could actually use: a starting pitcher.
  9. No worries. When they made that deal with Rendon, Arte pulled Boras aside after a meeting about Cole and said he had his eyes on Rendon. So I think that shows that Arte isn’t afraid to deal directly with Boras. Iirc, Boras even joked about their past dealings at the Rendon presser.
  10. With his dugout suite, you might see Boras more than Rendon at Angel Stadium during a season
  11. uhhh, he gave a Scott Boras client by the name of Anthony Rendon $245M a few years ago. Ever heard of him?
  12. Garver might be a primary DH, occasional C/1B at this point in his career.
  13. 1. Soler 2. Hoskins 3. Pederson 1. Snell 2. Montgomery 3. Stroman (assuming Yamamoto isn’t an option) Stay Away: 1. Bellinger 2. Hader
  14. I was just saying saving money was the main goal of the trade. There were other benefits of the trade, as you mentioned. Fletcher seemed like a pain to deal with since he didn’t think adjustments were needed. There is upside to White, but again, that’s more of a bonus. And they wouldn’t say it aloud, but I bet they also had concerns about how well Stassi would return after missing an entire year.
  15. I think the two biggest problems for White are that: 1) He got rushed to the majors. 2) He then dealt with a bunch of injuries. It’s hard to make up for lost time in the minors when you’re hurt. I’d just like to see him healthy and playing everyday in AAA. The trade was about saving money, so anything you get out of White is a bonus.
  16. Right now, looking at the lineup it’s: C- O’Hoppe 1B- Schanuel 2B- Drury 3B- Rendon SS- Neto LF- Ward CF- Trout RF- Moniak DH- ??? So I’d pencil in Rengifo at DH (or Rengifo at 3B and Rendon at DH.
