  1. Eppler better have been sure he will sign, otherwise this will be an even bigger bloom off the rose than the reliever pursuit in the off-season.
  2. Is Eppler underwhelmed with the college pitchers still available? Does this mean that Gilbert was likely their first choice, and Adams was their fallback?
  3. Slightly under on 1st round slot, and slightly over on 2nd round slot to maximize the 2 picks?
  4. Did Dipeutered take over as A'th GM? Murray wasn't even slated for the first round?
  5. Isn't it 5 min max per team in the 1st round? Halos pick should be coming at around 5:40pm.
  6. Edwards must be a heady, high I.Q. guy, to have committed to Vandy. Sounds like an ideal leadoff guy and rock solid MIF defender.
  7. Turang could be a fall back in case Simmons for whatever reason did not re-sign after 2020. Rengifo has nice tools, but Turang could be a potential game changer down the road. Lots of good players to choose from at #17.
  8. I get sitting Ohtani even against a struggling LHP like Duffy, since he's struggled against LHP (sub .150 BA). Unfortunately, Marte hasn't done much better over the past few weeks, and so it's really by elimination that he is starting. One caveat: Duffy has been much better over his past two starts (13.2 innings, 2 earned runs, 14 baserunners). The Halos top 4 relievers wish they had the command that the Royals top 4 relievers have had. In 91 innings, Herrera, Keller, McCarthy, and Hill have combined to allow just 72 hits and 19 BBs (1.00 WHIP, under 2 BBs per 9 innings), albeit just 69 Ks. Even the Royals have a much better pen than the Halos currently!
  9. Dipoto's was previously Dipeutered. BadRock does have more oomph to it for Bedrosian, opposite of BedRock for his dad.
  10. Ohtani is only struggling to hit LHP. He's still hitting RHP very well. The pen is the biggest concern, although it would help if the offense found some of what it had for those first 16 games.
  11. Marsh for Britton? With Britton still preparing to return from surgery and out until at least mid-June, and struggling in 2017 (1.53 WHIP), while Marsh is a potential cornerstone OF in 2-3 years? My answer = one of the new WWE guys' ring names......NO WAY, JOSE!
  12. I'd be hesitant on Ward, whose bat was really playing well in AA (near 1.000 OPS), and now is in AAA. If his glove becomes solid at 3B, we know he has the arm. He just might be the future 3B. Although Cozart's defense and decent hitting is nice to have through 2020 at the MLB level.
  13. Heavy GB pitchers with solid command do play up very well in today's power oriented game. He sounds like the guy, if still available.
  14. Parker and Ramirez have been fine. Anderson too, if not for the wildness If Anderson could ever reign in the wildness, these three could be a solid enough 3-4-5 behind an acquired Herrera and acquired setup guy. Alvarez lately is proving that he's a solid middle innings guy, but not a high pressure spots guy. Johnson is almost toast. BadPebble either needs a shrink or a bigger sack. Morris may have the off speed pitch, but also nothing of note to go with it.
  15. Over the past 33 games though, the starters are averaging nearly 6 innings/start. The bullpen isn't piling up the innings like they did in April. The problem is that none of them can be trusted in the 9th inning, and even the 8th inning sometimes. A better offense would lead to fewer close games, and hence less true closing opps. A better offense means that if they only added Herrera and another decent/solid guy for setup work to take pressure off Anderson/Parker, that might be enough with the better offense to catch the M's for the 2nd WC spot.
  16. I'd focus on a trade for Herrera in July, if still in contention, and focus on the true elite closer during FA in the off-season. Herrera won't cost a ton, but Hand would. Focus on signing either Kimbrel or Familia after the season. Going forward, the big emphasis is on retaining solid starting pitching and of course Trout, Simmons, and Ohtani. Trout and Simmons are the anchors in the field (along with Machete).
  17. Wasn't Turang originally thought a year ago to be a potential #1 overall pick in this draft? One note to Jordyn Adams: the slotting system recently instituted has made it pretty much a no brainer for first round picks to sign. Even if you move up say 12 spots 3 years from now, the money won't be that much more plus you sacrificed 3 years minor league development in the meantime.
  18. Closing in on 6 innings per start since April 29 (33 games, 191 innings), while putting up the 2nd best AL ERA (2.59) for starting pitching since then
  19. Going back to the game after (April 29) Richards' implosion vs the Skanks at home: 191 innings (almost 6 per game), 153 hits, 183/59 Ks/BBs, 2.59 ERA, 1.11 WHIP
