    On MLB Network right now, Morosi stated the Angels are interested in Matthew Boyd. He says he perfectly fits the mold of the type of starting pitcher we are looking to acquire. Hoping something comes of this.

    I'm getting the feeling our lack of top tier pitching prospects is going to end up hurting us in any trade we try to make for a pitcher. Suarez is the only one we have in the top 10 and he is very close to graduating. Has not been impressive in the majors thus far which might turn some heads away.

    Suarez and Sandoval (our highest ranked pitchers) aren't as good as Kay and SWR so we had no shot. It was obvious the Jays would target pitching prospects.

    You're flat out wrong here. Everyone knew the moment this trade happened that the Pirates overpaid. They also got Baz who is a top 100 prospect.

    I also don't think Archer's value is as low as some think. The Pirates just gave up a huge haul to acquire him, it would be a terrible look for them to sell low on him only a year later. He will be kept in hopes of rebounding in 2020, or will be traded for a similar premium that the Pirates paid originally.
