I don't think anyone is speaking on authority.... just rendering opinions. My opinion is that Trout would want to go to a consistent winner. Get paid lots of money. As far as your idea that there is no consistent winners in baseball that is just plain stupid of you. It's a good bet that the Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, & Astros are all going to be in the postseason.... without having Nostradamus chime in. To add Trout to any of those teams would further increase there chances. Trout with the Angels has never won a postseason game..... I think that would piss off most people. Especially the competitive people. You don't get to be Mike Trout without being competitive.

I think we should get rid of Young first. Than Marte. Than Valbuena in that order. Anyone in my opinion is better than Young... I still like Eric Young Jr. I would rather have Fletcher up than Marte. Marte does nothing well. He plays 2 positions.... but he sucks at both..... anyone can do that. It does not mean they have position flexibility. Valbuena I would try to get someone at the trade deadline to take on the rest of his salary.... like we did last year with Maybin. If possible at the trade deadline. Acquire Moose & Adam Jones. Maybe CJ Cron..... just kidding. I would not mind taking Grichuk off the Blue Jays hands if we can get him dirt cheap.

It's a long season. I would not agree with if we do not want win at least 2 out of 3 than the season is over. Personally I really hate the Mariners and would love to sweep them. I think after yesterday's game the Angel bats will wake up and no Tropeano for this series. I think the Angels sweep the Mariners.

Good post. Another thing Trout might be doing when he says he wants to be in the playoffs is he knows Eppler will read it and he might just be pinging Eppler to be proactive on the trade front.

Great post. Truth is most likely Trout is not completely sold on staying an Angel or he would have already extended his contract. In his own words he is not even answering the question. He does not want to lie and he does not want to upset people. But it definitely is not a given he will extend with the Angels. He really does not need to wait to see what other players who are not as good as him get. If he 99% knew that he wanted to stay an Angel he would extend today and get all that guaranteed money just in case something crazy happens.

Yeah it's like the saying in football when you have 3 good QB's fighting for the starting spot what it really means is you have no QB.

I know very little about the drafts. But is it the feeling of the board that the Angels had a good draft? Great draft? Should we have went with someone else in the 1st round?

The thing with Herm is there is guys at Salt lake that hit .350 and than come up and hit like crap. For him to only hit .265 in Salt Lake does not inspire a lot of confidence. When Calhoun gets back I would assume he will get a month if he is no better than I would assume they will do a Kinsler or Upton type trade without gutting the farm.

The thing with Pujols is he was healthy all off season. He trained and worked hard. If this going forward is the best he can do and going forward with the normal aging process I would assume diminishing returns such that at some point this will have to be dealt with.

I think ultimately when push comes to shove Trout will resign with the Angels. The biggest reason is no team will ever love you like your first team. Look at what happened to Griffey when he left the Mariners.... he went to his hometown team the Reds and the first slump he went into they crucified him. Look at Pujols.

I do not understand with all the put downs. We all get it that you are a funny and witty guy. Putting someone down is unnecessary. If you feel good about yourself.... enough said. Honestly if he could even throw 80 mph I am totally impressed. I never could get there. All of you guys were probably studs in your own way. Storm to even share a court with a future NBA all star I am very impressed. We all share 3 things in common. Baseball. Angels Baseball. Knowledge of Angels baseball. So why are we attacking each other like we are the enemy.... save that for the Red Sox & Mariner fans. A lot of ideas are bantered around here that are excellent ideas. Who knows maybe if Ohtani was a closer maybe he never injures his arm and we have him for the next 2 years? Who knows? To say his idea is bad when the other way was a complete disaster.... I don't get. Right now if Ohtani was to hit .300 and hit 30 HR's a season that would be awesome and something the Angels really could use. The constant bashing just keeps posters away and keeps the dialogue down, and the ideas down.

The sad thing is this is just a normal year for Valbuena. He is hitting .224 this year. His lifetime BA is .228.
