  1. he's been our second worst player at -.3 WAR, just behind Calhoun. Espinosa was around that this time last year.
  2. kinsler is soon to be reaching danny espinosa level bad at 2B
  3. did you watch the '16 WC game Mets vs Giants. Rivera dropped like 3 pitches from Addison Reed in the 8th inning and they were right down the middle, I've literally never seen a catching performance that bad. He always looks dumbfounded back there, like he has really low IQ
  4. what a Facking collapse this is so far! unfortunately so many missed opportunities vs gonzales who is terrible
  5. Rivera is back to '16 WC game Mets vs. Giants level bad catching
  6. our #8 and 9 spots are automatic outs, our 2nd best hitter isn't playing. Facking sucks...
  7. it was the exact same celebration with the exact same clothing, I remeber laughing my ass off seeing that yesterday...
  8. lol, those black guys in the stands were from the 1st game when they caught a foul ball... fox sports west is taking clips from previous games, WTF! FAKE NEWS!
  9. Rivera dropped foul tip, doesn't move his body to block the ball. Having himself a batter...
  10. Yea Upton's last year seems a little bit like a career year. His last three years prior to last he was an above average player, but we're not getting JD Martinez with the bat. 2014: .270/.342/.491 - 29 HR - 3.7 WAR 2015: .251/.336/.452 - 26 HR - 3.4 WAR 2016: .246/.310/..465 - 31 HR - 1.7 WAR his walk and k rates are constant: about 10% and 25% each year. He's going to be above average hitting around .260/.330/.470 - 30HRS - bad defense in LF - around 3 WAR.
  11. If the opposing team isn't the Yankees or Red Sox our performance ranges so far have varied from pretty good to amazing.
  12. exactly, you have to factor in the opportunity cost of his replacement/s. To get an established replacement would cost $5M+, if you want minimum wage guys the situation could turn into a merry go round like LF and 2B were in 2015/16. Remember Matt Joyce, Daniel Robertson, David De Jesus, Colin Cowgill, Shane Victorino, David Murphy, Kirk Nieuwenhius, Alfredo Marte, Craig Gentry, Daniel Nava, Ji Man Choi? That's just LF from 2015/16. People said blah blah, we'll compete one of them will win the job and that will be that. It was a terrible situation, Calhoun is only 30 and his potential upside and ability to rebound * chance it happens is by the FO's calculation higher than the chance a bunch of $500K career journeymen's suddenly start hitting once called up. If there was a perfect scenario to replace him like Adell/Marsh being at least at AA knocking on the door, maybe you DFA Young, call one of them up, and see what happens in a month or two w/ them sharing time to start. But as it is, Calhoun will probably be out there until at least the deadline, where they might snag a rental to finish out the year/playoffs if this continues.
  13. the batter wouldn't have reacted like that, no one gets into the box thinking catcher's interference. And rivera pulled back his left hand like he got smacked you can instantly tell when a batter gets hit in the hand or the bat by their reaction, same as this situation
  14. at least he's got some some sick hops for a ginger!
  15. the batter's + Rivera's reaction = 100% catcher's interference
