fair point but my dream job when I was in university was to work for baseball prospectus. I have all the editions dating back to 2004, it's the one book I buy every year. I worked as a CPA for PWC before moving to the finance sector where I currently work today. If an opportunity were to come up where I could work for a baseball analytics department and still make ~ my salary + live in Southern California (the hard part) I would jump all over it.

haha true I saw those but the Trout fanboys were still going after people, it was mostly harmless but still there. It's like the One Direction/Bieber fangirls when it comes to Trout/Ohtani. You can't say 1 overanalyzed critque of them without people downvoting you, but you can posts unlimited amounts of humor/satire/critique with Pujols/Scioscia/Calhoun and get hundreds of upvotes. It's like when Strad said where people will show up when something negative happens but disappear when the team is doing well and praise is there to be granted. I'm the same mindset, praise Richards if he's only one spot behind Ohtani accord to fangraphs, but if you just listened to people on this board Richards is Jesse Chavez or something.

to add: once again I love Ohtani and Trout

and i've written posts saying that, but most people will write knee jerk posts when Pujols K's or HR's, it's he's shit or "the machine" when Richards K's someone he's amazing when he starts nibbling he's trash. what's different between when Ohtani gives up a HR and when he K's someone? people will post pictures, jokes about Calhoun/Scioscia but if you write one slight observation about Trout or Ohtani this entire board will come after you like a mob of Bieber/One Direction fans

Hitting: he was projected to be #17 in WRC+ during the 1st month, he's basically held steady at #21 but that's mostly due to Lindor/Ramirez and some others rising. Pitching: he was #6 in ERA among starters but he's now projected for a half ERA higher. So guys like Buehler/De Grom/Mcullers/Morton are now ahead. Garrett Richards is just behind Ohtani, so much for Richards being shit. The dude is a good pitcher. The projections are projecting the FUTURE: so Trout's steamer statline is over 105 games since that's how much of the season is left they're projecting him for. So Ohtani's current ERA, BA is included in the formula to determine his future statline, but it is not calculated into the statline. It's all what they predict he will do in the future. BTW OHTANI IS AWESOME, but people on this board will make fun of any player but the second you say anything about Ohtani or Trout it's like a personal attack. if you took a compilation of remarks made about the other 23 players + Scioscia it would almost be cyber bullying yet if you say anything that isn't Ohtani/Trout are god then you're a hater.
