  1. That's debatable.  There are a lot of things that this organization does for this website.  They haven't ever asked for anything in return, have never commented on some of the outrageous things posted on here and have never tried to steer the conversation on aw.  That is reason enough to have at least a small amount of grace and thankfulness from us fans and members of this site.

Mind you, this is my opinion.  Neither AW nor anyone else has asked me to make this argument.  It is just how I feel.

I am not interested in anything the angels have to offer, whether its press passes, someone coming to speak or whatever happens in spring training.

I like angelswin because its a place to blow off steam.  If that includes jokes about Scioscia eating lasagne, so be it.

  2. I am reading about comments that may offend front office personnel, one by an guy whose avatar is a monkey melded onto Scioscia's face.

I come here to be entertained.  Be that discussion, fat jokes, or a monkeyface Scioscia avatar.

This site does a better job entertaining me than the team does.  I don't want it to change.

  3. I'm not sure what you mean by okay.  My point was that Angels FO personell read this forum, at least be somewhat respectful of the man at the helm.  Say his moves are horrible, say his line-ups suck, say he isn't getting through to the players anymore.

We don't owe front office personnel anything.

For those who haven't seen (or in angelswin-speak, for those THAT haven't seen) it, here is the billboard.  It says stuff like "11 World Series Appearances"  and "4 World Series Championships".

What isn't written is that those were made for other teams.  Whoop-de-damn-doo.

  5. You are still missing the point.

They are saying come see three big time players play for the Angels NOW.  It isn't about what they did before.  It also isn't in any way marketed toward you.  It is marketed toward the casual fan that might not know who all is playing for the Angels now or what they have accomplished.

Oh I got the point just fine.  The billboard sucks.  The marketing campaign sucks.

  6. Um... I think you guys are missing the point.  It is hyping the players that are playing for the Angels to encourage people to go watch them play.

I don't give a sh*t about what those guys did for other teams.  Even though we are the ones rewarding them now for their past accomplishments.

More marketing genius by the big guy.

  7. I don't have a pic, but its the one with the big A... and in lighter print, there are all kinds of stats - 24 all star games... 10 world series appearances.... 7 batting crowns... (I may have the numbers wrong).

What is the point here?  Are these all the accomplishments made by current angels when they were with Texas, St. Louis, etc?

  8. Gubi seems like a nice enough guy.  But just about every at-bat turns into a private lesson with a hitting instructor:

    He kept his hands back

Rotated his hips as he swung, resulting in more power

The bat path thru the zone, yadda yadda

I used to kind of tune him out, but man, its like the telecast is geared to a fourth grader in little league.
