The team falls apart when Rendon is injured. Last year and now.
Gonna take a lot of flack for this but he is more important to this team than Trout.

Doesn’t seem like it will ever end?
No, no it doesn’t.

I’m not to sure what do say. 14 in a row? That’s not an easy accomplishment.

I’m rather pleased with how this offseason ended up. I guess that is why they sometimes say you need to trust the process.
-
Are we going to be able to afford Ohtani when the time comes?
-
That’s more then I expected. No wonder the Rangers we’re out.

It's still odd to me the urgency in which Eppler salary dumped Cozart packaged with a first rounder when no moves were imminent. Especially with how hard he's worked to build back our farm to an acceptable level the last few years.
It basically moved our payroll from $140M to $127M (CBT threshold being $208M). Especially if we don't get Rendon, it just seems like a shortsighted waste of a recent high pick.
I agree. Especially with such an emphasis on building within, I don’t get it.

Rendon is the last bullet we have left. And it’s not EXACTLY what we needed. But it’s good and it will have to do. If they miss on Rendon it’s time to seriously revise expectations for 2020 and 2021.
I think a lot of “fans” will be leaving the building in 20’ and 21’ if this the case.

Imagine what the market will be for him when he reaches free agency.
A brilliant pitcher and slugger. 10 years/$1 Billion??
I actually don’t know how these contracts are sustainable. It’s amazing to look at the salaries of the likes of Mantle, Maris or Aaron. People aren’t watching baseball or any sport like they used too. Yet, salaries keep going skyward.

It's a great deal, the Angels got rid of Cozart's salary before they had to cut him from the roster and eat that money. He also doesn't clog up the bench with his less than replacement value skills and allows a productive player to be added to the 40 man.
Lmao, not for a first round pick. This move errks me a lot more than not signing Cole.

His pitch framing is second to none, His game calling is out of this world, and nobody squats better than him. He will make the Angels pitchers better, and he is a certified Yankees killer
Make it happen
This game in 2009 was our 2nd last playoff win. -

Most women prefer a lot of money over all else though. She might love Newport Beach but she would love an extra 20 million more to live elsewhere.
It’s you, you are the reddit guy.

It’s silly money. I thought the Strasburg contract was ridiculous. This Cole contract makes me question humanity.
I agree, yet it also questions our ability to play in a wild card game this year.

Did anyone see the Angels “new jerseys?” It is going to be hard to sell many without any changes to the roster or the uniforms. Especially when they cost $455.

Once Pujols retires we'll have more money to throw around.
Two more years on the rebuild, then pay dirt. Patience, people!
Dude we were saying “two more years” two years ago.

That's it right there.
If the Yankees decide they will not be out bid, they won't be. Nothing can be done about that.If I looked at a dictionary, I bet you it fits the script for the definition of the words “all in.”

I agree with this completely. Still don’t think he deserves to be fired. You can’t really outbid the Yankees. We have no idea what All In means for Arte. But fuck getting this pissed off at Eppler or even Arte after they offered the highest contract ever for a pitcher by damn near $50 million. Some times you get beat.
It doesn’t solely suck on getting beat out on the Cole sweepstakes. It sucks ghat we struck out with Wheeler, and Strasburg. We also made a stupid deal by giving up our 1st round draft pick to get rid of a bad contract. It’s been an awful offseason. I wonder what Trout is thinking. I’m all for being positive but man of man.

Bottom line is the Angels cannot make excuses and fold.
It’s time to win. It is what it is.
So go get Rendon. Go get Ryu. Get Bumgarner or Keuchel.
And if they can’t get both Ryu and Bumgarner then they are going to have to spend minor league prospect capital to land a front line starter.
Eppler better pull his nuts out and make the moves necessary.
Let’s go Billy.
He almost has too, and that’s what I’m scared of.... His ass might be out the door.

I don’t understand giving up a first rounder to get out of a guy with one year left on his deal
I’d love to here Billy’s take. Is a 1st round pick really only worth 12.5 million?

This obviously sucks, no way around it. But before i go too crazy, ill see what we actually do.
That’s exactly what I’ll do too. However, we have to be #30 for the Free Agency power rankings so far. Yikes.

We fucking needed Cole bad. We should have put in the same bid as the Yankees and let Cole decide.
How do you know we didn’t?

I’m meh at not getting him. However, what is up with that Cozart deal? What’s the extra money for?

Lmao who here is on the Boras BINGO game? We’ve finally hit all the cliches for a Boras client.
Hahahahha, this move definitely counts as our free space right? Typical Boras.... Not too many teams have 300+ million lying around. Especially in “secret.”
