  1. Serious question: Does anyone remember the last time an Angels 3rd basemen made a play like that?
  2. "Starting to feel like 2002 again!" ( - what Rex Hudler would say)
  3. Puig acts like a child, but Danley is even worse than usual tonight, and that's pretty hard to do
  4. Albert now hitting .429 in his career when he bats 6th. Just imagine if Sosh had him batting there the last 7 seasons.
  5. Can the Angels player of the game be the Reds baserunning? Is that allowed?
  6. I agree with the first part. But he's got two more years of arbitration - how much is he expected to get? I like him personally so I'm probably being foolishly optimistic, but I'm still holding out hope he isn't this bad.
  7. in 17 games he's hitting .246 with an OPS of .704. Is there something I'm not remembering? My main memory of Puig is Albert embarrassing him by tagging up from 1st in 2014.
  8. I'm not sure how many millennials you know, but in many of their minds, nothing officially happens until it's shared on social media. Instagram posts and Facebook groups are created to mourn someone before the deceased's family has even been notified. (I know three people in the last two years who have found out a relative had passed away by reading RIP messages on Facebook.)
  9. When the Angels use an opener, does the "starter" who then comes in count as a reliever in this chart? He would have to, right?
  10. I hope Pujols bats again this inning. I feel like he hasn't received enough attention this weekend.
  11. People were complimenting Dan Shulman's announcing for the Blue Jays a few days ago. This is where I really miss him: on Sunday Night Baseball. He brought real insight to the game being played. These three sound like college kids during first week of freshman year in the dorms: everyone being friendly, making stupid jokes, nobody saying anything interesting or challenging. I probably only missed one or two games per season on Sunday night with Shulman. These days, I probably only watch half a dozen Sunday night games with this crew.
  12. Taking anything close to the plate with Hernandez is just dumb.
  13. Who did Shohei "shock" by coming to Anaheim? Maybe Seattle fans? Almost everyone thought it was between three or four teams, of which the Angels were one. Sometimes I think ESPN doesn't pay much attention to teams on the West Coast.
  14. If you told me Skaggs would pitch 5 scoreless innings today, I would have been thrilled. Now man up, offense. This weekend has been pathetic.
  15. I understand your point, but let's not go crazy here.
  16. Funny but not surprising. 87 bWAR vs 14, for 100M vs 250. And also 2 World Series titles.
  17. Exactly. This is what I have been explaining to friends all weekend: St. Louis definitely has great fans. It's the most boring big city in America. They have no football nor basketball team. The Cardinals are a historically great franchise. OF COURSE they're great fans. What is obnoxious is the way they talk about themselves as if there is some innate level of baseball knowledge in St. Louis that could not be replicated elsewhere in America. If El Paso, Tallahassee, or Omaha were home to the Cardinals, they would have great fans as well.
  18. In his last start, he looked better than he has in a year. Maybe he'll repeat that performance on Sunday Night Baseball and increase his trade value. Or maybe he'll go 4.1 innings with 91 pitches and 6 BB.
  19. Trout has struck out looking (on full counts) twice in a row without swinging at a single pitch in either at bat.
  20. Perfect scenario for Cardinals fans. Absolutely perfect. Solo home run when trailing by 4, so they can give him a standing ovation because it doesn't have a large effect on the game, and at the same time they can pat themselves on the back for being such great fans.
  21. So my hope of him announcing after the game "This has been a magical weekend; I've decided I will retire after tomorrow's game" is not realistic?
