  1. Very ture, but the worst of the damage from that quake was in Downtown Oakland.
  2. GO FIGURE: In the Fall of 1989, a devastating 7.1 earthquake centered near Santa Cruz, CA; wreaked havoc in Downtown Oakland. The Nimitz Freeway in Downtown collapsed killing a lot of people. Shortly after that, The Oakland A's won the 1989 World Series. New Orleans, LA; was once one of the top 25 largest cities in the United States. After Hurricane Katrina washed ashore in New Orleans causing damage, it wasn't even in the top 70 largest cities. Shortly after Katrina, the New Orleans Saints won their first Super Bowl (I rooted for The Saints). Very recently, Houston TX; the 4th largest city in the United States, was hit by Hurricane Harvey, which was supposedly worse than Katrina was. I doubt that Houston is the 4th largest city now; but, a few days ago, the Houston Astros won their first World Series. Any comments, questions, or insights here?
  3. The Dodgers are Number 13. Still, it's not bad The Angels being in the top 50 being as they are rating all the Major League Sports, not just Baseball.
  4. I grew up liking both The Angels and The Dodgers. I was a California Angels Fan starting in 1967, and remained a California Angels Fan until 1994 when they had that MLB Strike. Major League Baseball had become too much about money, and not the fans, families, and the love of Baseball. In 2005, I became a Minor League Baseball Fan and National Anthem Singer (Long Beach Armada) which was all about these things. Today, I live in Colorado Springs and I am a Sky Sox Fan.
  5. I am not a big lover of The Los Angeles Angels these days, or most of Major League Baseball in general. I use to be a fan of this team when they were the California Angels from 1967 until 1994 when Major League Baseball had that strike. It was a mistake to call the team the Anaheim Angels back in the late 1990's, then an even bigger mistake to call the Los Angeles in 2005. That was all about money for Disney and Arte, not so much about the fans and families. California Angels and Gene Autry was the golden years of Angels Baseball. Arte Moreno is a good man, but not a good owner. Under Gene Autry, Angels Baseball was about the fans and families. Win or lose, people enjoyed coming out to Angel Stadium. In 2005, when the Golden Baseball made its debut; my church had a Baseball Night at Blair Field where we watched the Long Beach Armada. The Armada was about fans and families, and the players weren't looking for big money. They just loved the game and wanted to play Baseball. I was hooked, and I have been a Minor League Baseball Fan ever since. I became a Long Beach Armada Season Ticket Holder and National Anthem Singer. A year after The Armada folded, I moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado; and I am now Sky Sox Fan. I was a Season Ticket Holder and National Anthem Singer for the Sky Sox in 2011. I have attended 2 games at Coors Field in Denver, and I have to say that the Colorado Rockies are one of the closet things in the Major leagues to Minor League Baseball Philosophy.
  6. Yes, I heard about that. I started a lttle discussion on this on a Facebook Page entitled: "You Know You Grew Up in Anaheim....." There are some interesting posts.
  7. On the 12th Day of Christmas My True Love gave to me 12 Drummers Drumming 11 Pipers Piping 10 Lords a Leaping 9 Ladies Dancing 8 Maids a Milking 7 Swans a Swimming 6 Geese a laying 5 Golden Rings 4 Calling Birds 3 French Hens 2 Turtle Doves And a Partridge in a Pear Tree ******************** The 12 Days of Christmas is not only a popular Christmas Folk Song, it is the celebration of time between the Birth of Jesus (1st Day-Dec. 25) to the arrival of The Wise Men (12th Day--Jan. 5th). In Latin America, particularly the Las Posadas, do not open their gifts until Jan. 5, because the 12th Day of Christmas is when the Baby Jesus received his gifts from The Wise Men.
  8. I have seen some topics here about "2016 Strikes Again." On Saturday Morning, July 9th, 2016; I suffered a Massive Pulmonary Embolism. My niece found me on the floor and called the paramedics, and by the time they got me to Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, I was close to death. They put me under at the time of my arrival. While I was in ER, I had stopped breathing, and they raced against time to resuscitate me before any brain damage was done. They were successful, but I was in a coma for about 26 hours. I came to the next day in ICU and began a long recovery. I was in Memorial Hospital a good part of July 2016. I just want to say, It is great to be alive and I am so glad that I made it to, and experience the Christmas Season 2016. Now I get to experience 2017, and I think about those who didn't get that chance to experience the 2017 New Year (Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds and others). I just want to wish everyone here a Great New Year (2017), and I hope everyone here had a Great Christmas Season like I did.
  9. That is true. You know, Pujols may decide yet to dawn an Angels Uniform when he enters the hall because of the way St. Louis treated him.
  10. My name is William (Bill) Baxter, I'm 61, and I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I work as a Civilian Contract Worker out at the U.S. Army Post at Fort Carson (just outside Colorado Springs). I just celebrated my 25th-Silver Anniversary as a Member of Toastmasters International. I am a Fan of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Minor League), and the Denver Broncos. I did live in Orange County, CA; most of my life and so I am also a Fan of the Anaheim Ducks. I saw that there is an NFL Forum and an NHL Forum where one can post about the Anaheim Ducks and the Denver Broncos, so I would definitely like to post here once in awhile.
  11. The Las Vegas 51's. I sang the National Anthem when the 51's came to Security Service Field and played the Colorado Springs Sky Sox.
  12. That would be a great idea! Las Vegas does have a Triple AAA Franchise, however.
  13. I moved to Colorado Springs, CO; from Orange County, CA. in August 2010, and since then, I have become a Fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple AAA Baseball). But as far as Hockey goes, The Anaheim Ducks are and always will be my team. They have made reular trips to the play-offs just about every year that I have been in Colorado.
  14. It's good to see Los Angeles get back into The NFL. A lot has been happening in my old stomping ground since I went to live out the rest of my life in Colorado Springs. Now that The Rams are not in St. Louis anymore, maybe they will get to come and play at Mile High Stadium in Denver once in a while.
  15. Greetings from Colorado Springs, CO. Throughout Colorado and Wyoming, we are quite proud of our NFL Team. As for Peyton Manning, what a way to ride off into the sunset in a Blaze of Glory! GO BRONCOS!
  16. I am Bill Baxter from Colorado Springs, CO. I lived in Orange County, CA most of my life before I moved to Colorado in 2010. It didn't take me long to become a Denver Broncos Fan. I have a Denver Broncos Fan Page on Facebook. We are quite proud of out NFL Team here in Colorado.
  17. Where would they put a new stadium? The one they have is fine for the L.A. Metro Area. San Antonio is looking to build a Baseball Stadium in their Downtown. San Antonio has had some second thoughts on getting a Triple AAA Team because that city (7th largest in the USA) is large enough to support an MLB Franchise. The Angels would get a lot of supporters in that city.
