Rendon’s arm scares the crap out of me every time he touches the ball, and especially if he is charging the ball and going full sidearm. I have no confidence in it.
The consensus has seemed to be that we should be excited about the present and future of Silseth. I have almost felt guilty being not excited at all about him. A 11th rounder getting to the bigs very quickly is absolutely a pretty cool story.
But I have never quite seen why THAT cool story means I am supposed to think he is going to be anything more than a back of the rotation starter.
I would like to officially request that the phrase “face adversity” be taken away from announcers and writers.
The irony is it would force them to, for once, come up with something original. How would they respond to such a challenge?
I love Mike Trout as much as anybody but it’s time to put to bed the “five tool” label. I have no confidence whatsoever that he is going to throw anybody out. The throw to the plate was poor and the throw he just made from the gap to the cutoff was weak.
I’m sure Gubi is a nice guy but seriously when was the last time he said something actually insightful, educational, or genuinely interesting? He is a livestream library of “duh.” And that’s fine it fills time whatever. But at best it is tolerable because it is so vanilla that it is easily ignorable.
I don’t think playing a young right handed hitter in a platoon is really developing him. Right handed hitters have to be able to hit right handed pitching to stick in the big leagues. If you want to “develop” Adell he needs at bats against right handlers more than he needs at bats against left handers.
