Actually You should reward him for Dipoto's leaving. Dipoto is a terrible GM. He is a farm wrecker.
After seeing Eppler work you may be right. With Dipoto I was thinking of chain of command issues and the front office either putting the GM in charge or changing GMs.

They were protecting his ass from going 0-3 on calls today. Fuckers.
Fire them all.
Phillips should be on 2nd base with Justin Upton at the plate with the bases juiced and just 1 out.
Didn't like the umpiring at home and 2b. How about umpires in the replay booth who don't rotate with field umpires?

It did...but unless the pitching is better, it won't matter....
I'd like to know why Skaggs and Bedrosian can't pitch better. They have good stuff, than screw up. Langston in particular thinks Skaggs needs another out pitch and better control. Bedrock, after two outs,......

I voted for Vlad's signing but could have voted easily for Weaver's hometown discount re-signing with Bora$ the agent.
I like the Justin Upton and Brandon Phillips signings because I didn't think they could be done. Hit me completely by surprise. Hope we can keep them past this year and that getting Melvin Upton Jr. (BJ Upton) isn't Justin's price for not opting out.
My favorite trades turned sour very quickly when I was a kid: Alex Johnson and Tony Conigliaro. I thought they upgraded the organization hitting-wise tremendously and had no idea of the fiasco that followed could happen that set back the Angels as long as it did.

Really seemed to help Trout and Albert.

Painful loss, but the Angels will put it aside and play hard tomorrow.

What a tedious read! Glad the Angels got the players they wanted.

Wow, I didn't see this trade coming!

Altuve ran that ball out for a single and willed his team to regain the lead.
We lost the game when we failed to score again in the 7th.

Odd, the bobblehead on Friday night has him in an angels uniform.
The bust in Cooperstown has him in a Rangers cap. That's the bottom line to me.

And no nolan. Could have sworn his son said he would be at the ceremony tonight, oh well.
Nolan's a Ranger

How they stay in contention surprises me. They seem to lose games they must win. It's hard to believe they could finish with only 11 more losses. But this is a team that plays hard and I'm 100% behind them.

Not at all. I'm totally interested in the Angels.

The Foundations say absolutely not. No major trade.
I'd be hesitant to make a major trade until we see if Tropeano, Skaggs, Richards, and Heaney can come all the way back from their injuries. What can you do with Giancarlo Stanton without a good pitching staff?
The Angels play hard and grind out some good wins, then they turn around and lose 2 out of 3.

The better umpires don't have many problems because they are competent and professional. Get more umps like them and the problem is solved.

Weaver had forearm tightness a couple of times early in the season and he was back in about a month. Sure hope that's the case here.
-
I was only able to listen to a couple of innings today and would have no problem with Mota doing some play-by-play.
For years I have hated him as an analyst because of the excessive chit chat.
-
Welcome back to the Angels! His pitches have some pop and he's in control. I remember the game he got hurt with the nosebleed and forearm tightness. Looks like we've got the full recovery we were hoping for.
-
If the Marlins trade Stanton while he's still an A List player, MLB should contract them.

I guess the better question would be what do you think a different manager would have done better this season. Seriously, what?
I thought Scioscia generally gets the most out of his players.

Really appreciate Jeff's input. He's been entrusted to the latest on my team.

WASHINGTON — Andrew Heaney doesn’t look at his return in quite the same way as the rest of the Angels.
Considered by some in the clubhouse to be an addition who could propel the recently surging Angels into the playoffs, Heaney has more modest goals.
“The way they’ve been playing,” he said, “I just want to not mess it up.”
Heaney will get his first chance to “not mess it up” on Friday, when he will start against the Baltimore Orioles. It will mark his return to a major league mound, just over 13 1/2 months removed from Tommy John surgery and 16 1/2 months after his only big league game in 2016.
Heaney, 26, posted a 3.49 ERA in 18 starts in 2015, and earned the No. 2 spot in the rotation the following season. His elbow problems cropped up during that first start, eventually resulting in major surgery.
Heaney will take the currently empty fifth spot in the rotation, pushing JC Ramirez and Parker Bridwell back to Saturday and Sunday in Baltimore.
“We’re excited to have Andrew back,” Manager Mike Scioscia said. “It’s a remarkable process he went through in his rehab.”

NORRIS UPDATE
Bud Norris gave up a run in his only inning of work since the Angels removed from the high-leverage role in which he’d spent much of the season. Scioscia said he still saw positive signs in Tuesday’s outing.
“He made some adjustments that were important,” Scioscia said Wednesday morning, referring to Norris keeping his hands closer together during his delivery.
Norris was the closer, even though Scioscia never officially named him as such, for most of the season. A bad stretch of games, including two grand slams, cost him that spot. He pitched with a 2-0 deficit in the sixth on Tuesday.
“He’s going to be fine,” Scioscia said. “His stuff is good. He’s got a chance to get back to being an important part of our ‘pen.”

Albert Pujols was not in the Angels’s DH-less lineup on Wednesday, a day after playing first base. The Angels then moved Mike Trout down to No. 3, and put Andrelton Simmons at No. 2…
Ben Revere got the start in left, instead of Cameron Maybin. Maybin was the everyday left fielder before he went on the disabled list with a sprained knee. Since he’s come back, he’s split the job with Revere, which is an effort to let his knee get stronger and also recognition of how hot Revere got in Maybin’s absence…

Hopefully he'll finish the season with progress and no drama. We haven't been so lucky with Richards and Skaggs so far.

Boy what a grueling series, and having to face Houston and Cleveland. If the Dodgers don't put it all together I think Cleveland will win the World Series. I thought Francona outmanaged Maddon. I want the Angels to win anything they can but I really want them to beat the Mariners because the Eppler is better than Dipoto. What a difficult minefield of a pitching staff to navigate the rest of the way.
I'm 62 and ill but I'll do whatever I can to help.
