At least from the outside, Butcher wasn't a very effective pitching coach. Pitchers went bad and stayed bad for a long time with plenty of "fixes" being tried but with few results. I don't know their exact situation but Greinke and Miller sure are pitching like shit this year. Glad he's gone.

He's stranding just under 90% of baserunners this seasons (third best after Lewis and Lester).

While that's not sustainable I think he will probably get better at minimizing the 2 out jams he seems to get himself into. Losing focus and walking people or giving up hits too often, though he's been able to pitch out of those jams very well. Really good stuff. I can't believe HOU gave him away. Think they could use him now?

Alvarez has been pretty bad. Allowing .406/.500/.656 against right handed batters. He's fine against lefties but that hasn't been his role.

Great win. Hard to win a Shoemaker start but at least he kept them in the game.

Offense is way better than a week ago. Makes for a much more watchable game.

His velocity hasn't dropped at all. In fact it's up a half mph from 2014. His location and stuff aren't the same though. Some really horribly located pitches that get hit hard.

In '14 his split finger fastball was a nice weapon. A true out pitch. Now it just...... goes out.

Yes, there's a big difference. The mad king had proven to by a crazy mf by frequently torturing people and planning to genocide an entire city with wildfire. It had to be done, it should have been done sooner. Did all the Houses that rallied to Robert Baratheon's cause do so because of the Rhaegar / Lyanna/ Robert love triangle? No, it was because the realm had a crazy King that they could no longer support and nobody was doing anything about it. Robert's rebellion presented the best opportunity to remove King Aerys and they took it. Had Selmy and the other Kingsguard been a little less concerned about thier "honor" and their inscription in the White Book an entire war could have been averted. The bath scene with Brienne showed that Jaime's motivation for killing Aerys wasn't just self preservation, but also orders from his father and concern for the city.

I have no issue with Howland Reed's dagger in the back. He did what he had to do to survive (and Arthur Dayne should have watched his six).

I have more of an issue with Ned Stark's pious bullshit. He allowed Jon Snow to make a life commitment to the Watch while continuing to deny him the truth about his lineage. "I'll tell you next time we meet", gee thanks dad. He lied to his wife, allowing her to hate on the kid for his entire life under false assumptions. He was a terrible player of the game as shown in his conversation with Cersei, but he was also a terrible player with a family who put them at risk for no gain. How honorable is that?
