theres no way ur getting Reddick, give it up.

Carlos Perez deserves all the credit for lighting a fire under Iannettas ass. The dude felt the pressure and realized play time and potential $$$$$ was slipping away and look what happened. The ultimate motivator MONEY.

harper going to prove to be better than trout.
-
Not sure why trout is looking to walk, he should swing at everything theres nobody behind him to hit even if he gets the walk. He should swing in the dirt, outside, over his head, whatever, swing at it.
-
forget green in place for cron, green should be playing 2b.

u could win alot of fantasy leagues just streaming starters vs the angels

Perez in the doghouse already huh.
He served his purpose. Lighting a fire under the ass of a complacent lazy vet who now tries. The same should happen to rest of these losers, call up more young guys to push em.

The Angels are 2.5 games out of the WC spot and we aren't even through May yet. And that's despite having one of the worst offensive teams in baseball.
Add a bat or two and we're probably tied for the 2nd WC spot. Possibly better.
and then we get rolled up and smoked in the playoffs just like last year. You think the offense is going to be any better in the playoffs this season? They are way outmatched by quality pitchers and in the playoffs thats all you are going to get is quality pitchers.

I'm not expecting anything I'm just hoping the team doesn't make a panic move and acquire an overpaid vet in hopes of jump starting an offense that has multiple players who aren't producing at the level people hoped. All teams struggle, go through ups and downs and eventually have to rebuild or re-tool. I'd rather stand pat at the deadline than add another overpaid player in his 30's to the roster. Ethier was a consistent 120-130 OPS+ guy until last year when he was below league average. Does that mean I think he will be below league average this year? Not at all but I don't think adding him puts the Angels over the top. No matter what the Angels do or don't do some of the guys currently on the roster need to start producing offensively.
I agree, the offense is flawed in so many ways we should just suck it up and accept the fact they arent championship contendors this season. We need to either sign a front line FA MOTO or create a top 10 MOTO from within and then tinker with some other pieces to create a lineup top to bottom that can compete in the off season. The way we are now adding Ethier to this team for free wouldn't make them contendors. Didn't Dipoto pretty much admit to this when trading Kendrick for Heaney? It was a long term deal, the offense would take a hit, but the pitching would get deeper long term. So basically he sold the offense for the future, I don't see him selling the future for mediocre offense now, why would he change his stance all of a sudden?

Ethier and Howard are great sell high candidates and you don't want to be on the buy side of that deal. Both were below league average last year according to OPS+ and are playing much better than they have in the last 5 years in Howard's case or in their career in Ethier's (OBP, SLG, OPS) case.
CJ Wilson is a sell high as well.

Wow, the level of desperation is amazing. Howard and now Ethier? Lol
Yes, agreed, we are very very desperate. The lineup is so bad Howard and Ethier really won't amount to enough to make them a viable title contending lineup.

It's like you guys don't remember last season. If this season plays out like last year, we get hot for a couple months and beat up on the teams who quit who have no chance from July to Sept. and win the division make the playoffs. So what? We enter the playoffs and the anemic offense returns because we are facing quality teams with high end starters and our true colors are shown. 1, 2, 3 sweep with virtually no runs and no hits in 3 games. The team is flawed, in a big way.

How bout we demote Scoscia and then everything can be fixed.
-
I'd take Ethier, he's as good as Calhoun so we get ourselves another 2nd best hitter on the team. He would immediately bat cleanup and then Calhoun could move back to leadoff where he performs better.
