There are two sides of the ball. Lucho's glove alone had him on pace for a 2 WAR year last year. If he hits just .240-.250 he's a 3-4 WAR player.
I don't understand why people don't care about run prevention. It's just as valuable as creating runs is. Not to mention Freese's off the field issues, but that's been discussed at length. Giving up Bourjos and Grichuk for a guy who may or may be an upgrade was a stupid mistake.
It's absurd to look at 247 innings worth of defensive stats for Jimenez in 2013 and project out 2 WAR for a full season. Defensive WAR for a single year isn't that reliable--and you're wanting to look at less than 20% of a full year to hype up his value. No thanks.

You are a douche.
? What's the problem? This was the rant thread.
-
Don't tell me you're talking about Lucho... You do remember the last time he was called up. He clearly wasn't ready. To say he's clearly better than Freese is laughable.
He's been on the Jimenez bandwagon for a while now. Seems to be the only one left on it.

The Mariners are better than some think.
Two games in and this shit is starting again.
Then why are you bitching on Twitter? The stuff you're saying there isn't that different from what's being said here.

Can someone inform me what Freese is good at?
-
There's the Raul we know and love.
-
Note to self: stop watching CJ Wilson starts. It's too god damn infuriating.
I tried to double-like your post, but it wouldn't let me. Couldn't agree more.
-
Yep, good choice to leave CJ in.
-
Why is CJ still in the game?
-
I still like Raul. If he settles in and stops getting anxious, he'll mash.
-
Who's that wearing the Ibanez jersey who just hit a HR?
-
Now Freese has the power of Glaus according to Gubi...didn't DUI David have 9 HR's last year?
Yep, I think so. And over his career, he's averaging either 14 or 16 HR per 162 games (I'm too lazy to look it up now).

Weaver and Wilson both failing to do their job as experienced veterans, and we still have 3 unproven pitchers in Richards, Skaggs and Santiago..along with the blowpen. Offense is still lethargic and can't drive in runs with RISP.
Does this remind anybody of something?
A really shitty team?

Mariners look ready to play. The Angels don't
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think they're going to score a lot more runs than most other people seem to think. They've got some interesting young guys.
-
At almost 60 pitches through 2 2/3 id be surprised if CJ made it through
5this inning.There you go.
-
Nice strategy, Sosh.
-
Good call on the intentional walk.
-
Ha. Ibanez Ks and Howie hits into a DP. We're gonna see a lot of that, aren't we?
-
Ibanez. Dude. Come on.
-
Wow. What the heck were the Mariners doing there?
-
18 pitch inning--but no runs. CJ bein' CJ. Keep it up.
-
Just to clarify: we can or cannot call CJ "The Nibbler" now?
-
It's actually been 5 years.
13 since he was drafted. Just want this to sink in for people. 13 years in the organization...

Why would you disagree with the Angels promoting the assistant to the position, Hanson having several years of experience in that capacity, for a retired legacy player that has done no coaching at the minor or major league level? This line of thinking baffles me.
Because he's like the greatest Angel evar! Duh.
Very impressed with Freese
