Washington said yesterday that he wanted to use Carson Fulmer in more high-leverage situations. Since then, he had him warming up when the Angels were down 4-0, and now he's about to come in with the Angels down 5-0 in the 4th inning. Not exactly high-leverage. -
Average velocity on his fastball is down a little and his spin rate is a little lower on his fastball, slider, and curve...but no huge red flags. Maybe he's just not fully comfortable today for whatever reason.

I'm happy that Detmers has only allowed one run so far--but is it just me, or does something just seem a little off with him today? He's all over the place (even more than normal) with his delivery and follow-through.

On more than one occasion in his post-game comments, he has misstated the score, used incorrect information to justify the decisions he made, or thrown his own players under the bus while refusing to take any blame for things that went wrong. Those are the things I'm talking about. But feel free to keep lapping up everything he says as though he's some magical source of knowledge if you wish, though.

I have no problem if people don't want to pay to watch. I just get tired of the same complaints about Apple TV+, Peacock, etc. on the very rare occasions when the Angels are on one of them. Watch or don't, I don't give a shit. Just don't bitch about it, or reply to me telling me you've used up your free trial (I know that wasn't you, AO). Not my problem! I'm trying to help people.

In his last 7 starts, Detmers has an 8.59 ERA and a 1.72 WHIP.

Note that this is the Fox broadcast network, not Fox Sports. I know some folks on here got confused the last time they were on Fox. Bryce Wilson on the mound for the Mariners.

I highly doubt Coutney is going to be any sort of contributor. It's entirely possible Schanuel won't turn into a solid regular, either--but I'd put more $ on him than Coutney.
