What would it take? A healthy pitching staff would help. 

When I first heard about the competition plan I thought it was a good idea. I still due. But reading through these posts and stats I am now pretty worried about the bullpen. Looking like a weak link for sure. We need another quality arm out there...

Sorry for being late to the party on this thread. Going to start hitting the site more often. I'm pretty optimistic about Espionsa. His average and strikeout rate were punished by batting in front of pitchers. It's easy to develop some bad habits when you are getting pitched around so often. He could easily boost his numbers much like we saw from Simmons last year.

I watch fewer games. Usually when the team sucks I like to watch the young prospects get some ABs. But we don't have much of that to watch either. 

Agree with Chuck on this one. Cron's been way to streaky and the cold streaks have been brutal. After 3 years in the show you have a good idea on what kind of player you have. He needs to be moved down the depth chart if he doesn't get hot in the next week or two.

No way he walks away from $18mil. I suspect he spend a ton of time on the DL this season.

Let Kubitza and Cowart duke it out in ST for the starting 3B job since they hit lefthanded, Marte is their righthanded platoon partner.

I was just thinking of the same move. Also could be trading Kubitza or Cowart. Maybe for Rymer Liriano?

Angels almost have to get this kid. I hope Eppler can swing some kind of deal to get him.

I like the trade. Jepsen made me nervous every time out there except with bases empty. Joyce is must platoon hitter. Cron's splits were marginally better against lefties. Should be some good battles for roster spots in spring training...

No question for it me. Nolan Ryan. I was like 13 years old and totally crushed by this move. Still stings a bit when I read this topic.

Just woke up to this deal. WOW! Going to miss Howie, he was so steady and such a constant presence. But won't miss hiss GIDPs.

I suspect it's now Green and somebody in a platoon or UTL/back up INF battle this spring. Could make for a entertaining competition in spring training.

Seems like a good deal for The Angels. But I will miss Hank.

Don't know much about Gatto. But it was pretty cool seeing Harvey! His stuff was filthy. He had that devastating splitter.
