I have no idea what the score is. We all know that the angels just fold up like a cheap deck of cards whenever they play the Red Sox. I am basing my opinion of how it's going, just on reading the last page of this thread, I believe it's safe to say they are losing. Yeah, Chris Young definitely needs more at bats. Save us Chris Young.

I personally don't believe that hitting played a factor in the injury. Therefore, he should do the surgery asap, come back better than ever, and get back to being the unique 2 way talent that he was. He will be fine. We have seen many pitchers have TJ surgery and come back and be just as effective. Lets not waste any more time. The sooner he's back the sooner he can be part of a significant playoff run with the Angels.

Another lucky home run
by the lucky mariners
14 lucky hits by the mariners as a team
Your right. Maybe our shitty pitching had something to do with it. Definitely wasn't all luck.

At least we're guaranteed a Trout at bat in the 9th. Hopefully both guys in front of him can get on base. Edited for another hr given up.

A break. Let's see if we can capitalize on it. It's a great time for another HR

I’m sure the angels would love to luck their way to first place
Indeed. I think we would all take it and not complain. Then all the Mariner's fans could complain about how lucky we are. Flip the script lol.

Good. We minimized the damadge. Only another Mike Trout 2 run HR from tying it. I would prefer a 3run bomb to win it though.

If they're a good team what does that make the Angels?

Mariners - 3.60If anything, they're pretty even with the Angels slightly better than them in most categories. Difference is one team has been luckier than the other. Can the Mariners keep the good fortune all season long? Sure, we see it every year, but let's not pretend like Dipoto did some better job with roster building lol
Can you say LUCKY

How will they be battling for last? Why don’t we finish 2018 first
Please read my last message again. I addressed the last place comment and you apparently overlooked it.

Well at least we have Mike Trout. Makes the games worth watching even if most of the team is garbage.

Get rid of over 1/4 of this 25+ man roster!!!!
BadRock, Johnson, Valnobuena, BlashTrash, Marte, Young, and Cozart , take a hike!!!!!
Hahaha. It really is that bad, huh? God help us.

Is this a real statement ?
Yep. I don't believe they are as good as their record. A lot of good fortune. Like half their wins are 1 run wins. Do you believe that they are this good and belong in 1st ahead of the Stros? My comment about them battling for last next year is just my frustration at how things are going right now. I obviously have no idea how they will do next year. I just can't believe that this is the best team in our division.

Great watching Valbuena operate in slow mo. What a treat that was. He didn't give a shit. I guess winning just isn't that important. So if we get swept we will be 7.5 games out of first. If we can win just one 5.5. Wake the @##@ up Angels. I hate feeling angry just watching a baseball game. It just seems some of us care more than Valbuena does.

He deserves so much better
Yes he does. And if this team doesn't fix it soon, we will get our collective hearts broken when the world's greatest baseball player and very possibly the greatest ever, heads East to be part of a solid team with a chance to win some playoff games. It really pisses me off seeing all the garbage that we are surrounding Trout with since he arrived. What a waste of a generational super star.

This team is all about Trout

We all knew this contract was for far too many years, and that it would be impossible for him to play up to his salary. This is what happens when you pay players for what they have done instead of what they're likely to do. Nothing against Albert, I would have taken the contract as well. This is on the Angels and specifically Arte Moreno for signing him to this ludicrous deal. I didn't like the deal from the first minute. 10 years!!!!! He is doing exactly what his 40 something year old body is allowing. Would we expect any different? Shame on Arte for signing off on this obvious mistake of a contract.

Good job Ian. Way to pick your team up!

Terrible play by Cozart. Should have been a routine out. Instead he decided to airmail it. SMH.
-
Here we go. Let's see how many walks the blowpen gives up tonight. Hopefully very few.
-
There, that's much better Justin. Thanks for getting the job done.

Gameday Thread: 7/3 Angels @ Seattle: Ohtani is back

Mr Eppler, this season is over. Whoever doesn't believe this is kidding theirselves. Time to sell whatever we can, stock up the minors with whatever returns we get, and call up some AAA players to finish the season. The record at the end of the year doesn't matter. Just develop the young guys and determine who belongs at this level. So disappointed that it has come to this. It looked so promising when we we on a roll and had a 13-3 record. Boy, times sure have changed.
