I don't know what Bob is waiting for. He should already be on the phone to Pujols4MVP getting the # to the GM who is going to give us a 1st, 2nd, and prospects for Manson.

Just messing with you Pojuls4MVP. I think your post just shows how much of a diehard Ducks fan you are. This time though, the homer in you blinded you.

Been there, done that. Watching and listening to Bob will cure you of that.

You should check out forums of non-Ducks teams. Mansons value is easily a 1st + B prospect or pick. Foligno a 3rd liner got a 1st from Toronto.

David Savard who is worse than Manson, Tampa gave up a 1st, 3rd and 4th to get him.

50% salary retention on Manson should return a 1st + 2nd depending on how high the 1st or 2nd is, in which case it would be a 3rd instead of a 2nd.

If they exposed Manson in the expansion draft, Seattle picks him and either trades him for a 1st + or re-signs him.

Lindholm would fetch a larger return and they probably only trade him to a team that wants a contract extension window with Lindholm to maximize the return.

Rakell its hard to say because of his numbers but a team like Edmonton/Toronto with cap problems might give up a 1st + 3rd  for Rakell with 50% salary retention.
The Problem is Murray hasn't moved these players as if he thinks the Ducks can make the playoffs.

@Pujols4MVP Lol at thinking Manson will get anything better than a 3rd.  He's useless, and everyone knows it.  There is a reason why our D is so bad.  It's because he's a pylon that the modern NHL just skates around.

Are you serious ? Everyone around the league Knows Manson is worth a 1st + prospect. Go to any other NHL's team forum and you'll see that such as hfboards.mandatory.com
Manson also was better this year when he was finally healthy, his play was improved over the last 2 seasons.

At last seasons trade deadline Dmen who were lesser than Manson went for a nice return.
Murray would have been fired if he left Manson unprotected.

The problem is leaving Fleury unprotected, when Jones could have been an acceptable loss but they may have a deal with Seattle in regards to Henrique.

Its also speculated now that the Ducks have a trade lined up with Deslauriers and he's traded after expansion draft.

  3. Manson/Lindholm/Fowler were locks to be protected.

Manson and Lindholm would each get a 1st + 2nd + prospects at the trade deadline which is more than they would get for someone like Steel.

Protecting Silf and Des was beyond stupid. Should have gone 4-4-1 and let them take Jones who's only gonna be a 4th liner type in his career.

  4. Something like Manson for Sam Reinhart would give the Ducks a legit top 6 center. Both players are UFA so it'd be a gamble to see if they can re-sign Reinhart.

With 50% retention on both Lindholm and Manson they could get a lot at next years trade deadline or this offseason in a trade, assets that would be more valuable than protecting a few extra bottom 6 guys like Steel, Jones and Volkov.

Contending teams would give up quality assets if Murray were to trade them.

Even Fleury has more value than Steel/Volkov/Jones. Its alot easier to find a bottom 6 forward than a 2nd pair Dman who can eat minutes.

@Pujols4MVP  So you'd rather protect 2 players that will not be with the team in 2022-23 in Manson and Lindholm.

Exposing Manson ? They would trade Manson for picks and prospects before exposing him and letting him go for free, they could have done that at the last trade deadline.

At the deadline players like Foligno were returning a 1st round pick, a RHD like Manson would have gotten a 1st + prospects and Lindholm even more.

This offseason or at the deadline they could still trade them and get a 1st + prospects for each of them, that is much better assets than what Steel, Jones and Volkov are if they choose to protect 3 extra marginal forwards over 2 Dmen.

What a way to run the Ducks into being a bigger joke in the NHL if they were to just hand out Manson and Lindholm to Seattle.

But there are teams like the Ducks that need to make a trade pre draft or else the pieces that need to be included are no longer there.  Thanks again BM for putting us in this situation.

The Ducks are in the best position in the expansion draft and will lose a marginal asset or Henrique who is overpaid and declining.

    Ducks likely go:

    8 skaters and 1 goalie:

Manson/Lindholm/Fowler/Fleury/Rakell/Terry/Lundestrom + 1 of Steel, Jones or Volkov. Fleury showed he's he's bigger asset then one of Jones, Steel or Volkov.

They will likely lose one of Henrique, Steel, Jones, Volkov, Mahura or Stolarz. Larsson has negative value and Guhle sucks.

Steel is the only one I could see having a breakout with Seattle if they were to use him as a Winger and coach him to take more risks offensively instead of that 2way grinder/ face-off specialist that Eakins turned him into.

Looking at other teams fans forums I see that there isn't gonna be too much center options for Seattle that will do much in a top6 role and with RNH re signed by Edmonton it makes it more likely that Seattle has interest in Henrique.

  7. Well it doesn't matter because of who the owner is but for the sake of the poll i voted no. With how old the Angels owner Arte Moreno is getting, he probably wants to go back to the Reagins method of trading away the farm and going all in every year.

The only thing i hated about Eppler was he didn't like drafting pitchers that much and waited until 2020 to draft one with a high 1st round pick.

Maybe now they'll start drafting pitchers before Trout requests a trade when he's in his 30s.

I also didn't like that Eppler wasted the chance to trade Simmons in 2020 and Calhoun in 2019, since it appears Simmons won't be back.

  8. Simmons should return unless they plan on tanking in 2021.

If OhShit continues to suck in 2021 and Simmons doesn't return the team is gonna be relying on Trout, Rendon and Fletcher to score all the runs.

Maybe Adell has a ROY caliber season idk. The lineup looks like it will have alot of weak links next season with Pujols, Upton, Barretto, Rengifo being terrible

and even more if Ohtani doesn't rebound. Rengifo is terrible. Barretto will probably be too.

  9. If Kapanen is worth the #15 pick that Toronto got from Pitt, than Lindholm is worth much more than Carolina pick that is #24.

I'd ask for Kakko or for DeAngelo + #24. I'd expect NYR to say no to that & Bob Murray includes another asset in the deal.

Trading one of the games best 2way shutdown defenders who was drafted #6 for the #24 is a massively bad deal.

With Kakko they would have the trigger man for Zegras. With DeAngelo they'd finally have a real Offensive Dman who is also a RHD and use the #24 on Peterka/Reichel/Wallinder/Grans or something.

  10. Gibson would request a trade if Lindholm and Manson were traded. He'll be facing 60+ shots a night without them. A defense led by Fowler, Gubranson, Djoos, Mahura, Guhle & Larsson is gonna get whipped and wrecked on the ice.

Drysdale's most common NHL compare is Cam Fowler. Why use the #6 on Cam 2.0 when we should be getting a Makar, Hughes, Heiskenin type when drafting a offensive Dman as high as #6 ?

The Forwards are much better in this years draft. Raymond, Perfetti and Rossi are much better talent at #6 all around. I have no clue which one the Ducks like the most.

Raymond a Winger is like if Silf had elite speed & agility, better playmaking and offensive IQ. He has that same quick release hard wrist shot like Silf and the defensive awareness of Silf.

Perfetti a C/LW has an elite shot and high end playmaking ability & IQ, small and average speed but the kid is a late bloomer physically and can improve his speed as he builds better leg muscles.

Rossi a C (possibly moves to the wing) is a elite playmaking guy who plays a hard nose physical game and high end defensive game despite his size, like Perfetti he needs to improve his skating

and as the smallest of the 3, Rossi may end up moving to the wing if he doesn't improve his speed due to being 5'9 and not possessing elite speed like Brayden Point & Tyler Johnson.

Ottawa may end up picking Sanderson with #5 because he's the top LHD and they need that & may use the #5 on need if they are unable to trade down to use it on Sanderson. A Sanderson/Chabot pairing will be dangerous.

I lean towards Raymond & Perfetti because they can shoot the puck really well as well as having high end playmaking IQs.

Rossi would be great but if he moves to the wing they need to have a shoot first center with him because he likes to pass pass pass pass and they already have a winger like that in Terry who passes all day.

  11. Yes the Rangers. NYC deserved it. It will be exciting to watch that team in the playoffs next year. If Laf has a calder season and if Kakko breaks out that could be a really incredible top 9 forward group.

Rangers were 5th in goals for in the regular season. Now they should be 3rd next season with Chytil and Kakko making steps forward and Lafrienere being added.

The Wild and Florida would still miss the playoffs next season and will continue to be run by terrible GMs, no reason for the NHL to bailout the Wild/Panthers incompetence & doom Lafrienere to be stuck in mediocrity his whole career.
