  1. No. 3.2% walk rate and 33% K rate. I'm impressed he's continued to sustain quality production at the plate for this many AB's with his approach. Granted, the .432 BABIP is doing pretty much most of the heavy lifting here
  2. I mean....maybe? They traded a handful of some pretty average SP prospects at the deadline, so I can see some of them eventually being converted to relievers as is often the case with failed starters. No way for them to predict or project that far down the road with these guys though
  3. Yeah pretty much this. Of course, they need to start actually winning series vs good teams since they'll be facing quite a few of them down the stretch, something they have struggled doing all season long.
  4. Not even a fan of Jackson much due to the huge hit tool issues, but this is still quite an underwhelming return. Was hoping for another bullpen piece at the deadline, but Leone is pretty much a replacement level reliever you can find anywhere. Guess he'll add more depth to the pen at least
  5. They figure that if Ohtani walks in the offseason, the team is gonna suck next year, so may as well go full desperation mode for the remainder of this year while they still have him
  6. Took Ward getting his face shattered to simply score a single run today. Top notch job by the Angels hitters
  7. Tyler Anderson pitches tomorrow. Good chance the Jays score 7+ runs, though in Angels like fashion, that'll probably be the game where the offense finally does show up and they score 7-8 runs after doing nothing at the plate these first 2 games ....and then the bullpen blows it late and they lose 10-9 or some shit
  8. I believe Arte and the Angels will offer him a competitive offer to try and re-sign him, but I don't see what would compel him to want to stay beyond comfort reasons. He's on record saying he wants to win and play playoff baseball, and that obviously hasn't been close to a reality in his 5/nearly 6 seasons in an Angels uni. I don't know how they can manage it, but Perry and the team would have to do one hell of a sell job to convince Ohtani that re-upping here will lead to future postseason success
  9. Haha no. They went all in with very bad odds. No turning back now. They'll ride it out to the bitter end.
  10. Would be funny if he rejects it but gotta think he'll approve considering the Rangers are leading the division and he wants to win
  11. This crew taking turns to see who can have the worst strike calls during this series?
  12. Andrew Velazquez, cleanup hitter. This is bringing back traumatic memories of Jack Mayfield batting cleanup at times last season. Nasty stuff
  13. Just have too many sub optimal bats forced into the lineup due to all the injuries to hitters that continue to mount
  14. Just some consistently very poor quality of AB's across the board the moment this team gets guys in scoring position. Honestly impressive
