  1. except it is close and there's an entire article analyzing it
  2. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/nathanzobrist.png it's hard to tell where the ball is in relation to the plate's 3d space, particularly because the offset camera angle (which i hate) makes it harder to determine strikes and balls. if the ball is inches from aj pierzynski's glove in that picture then it clearly crossed the plate as a strike.
  3. i thought you were joking but i read the article which shows the call wasn't that bad. the gifs show the ball crossing the plate at zobrist's knees and then falling sharply to the right. pierzynski's handling of it made it look worse than it was and i commend the umpire for not focusing on "framing"
  4. they didn't boo him in june. the only boos he got during the season came during the elimination game against baltimore.
  5. every team not named the yankees gets screwed by umpires. and this umpire was calling pitches down the middle balls so it evened out.
  6. that was a terrible call. i can't stop laughing. i'd actually feel bad if ranger pitchers weren't squeezed the entire game.
  7. darvish has an 80 SL, 70 FB, 70 CT and several more pitches
  8. because his own teammates have weighed in on the issue. he was also traded by cincinnati because players thought he was a prima donna. i'd say you're embarrassing yourself because you're having such a hard time understanding context. you're rehashing the argument that people resent him because he simply went to another team. he became distracted by the media circus last year, had no tact when speaking to the media and continues to lack tact.
  9. these articles analyzing a gm's innocuous comment are just ridiculous.
  10. Mod Edit: RIP thread rules........ if you don't have anything nice to say, don't post.
  11. they learned it from watching the clippers and ducks
  12. because his command has been considerably better in those 10 starts
  13. it's not like he greatly improved his walk rate over the last couple of months or anything. don't be an idiot.
  14. yeah. we don't have cool mountains and whatever else 99% of the california population doesn't appreciate.
  15. he had an issue with his command last year and walked a lot of hitters but he also had a ridiculous k/9. his command has gotten much better but the blister had a pretty big impact tonight
