  1. I got Bryant in the 12th round and Soler in the 19th(only an eight team league).

I'm in a 12-team keeper league where managers can hold up to 5 players from the previous season.  A manager picked up Bryant via free agency after last year's ASB and kept him towards this season.

On a side note, the league I participate in has a bidding auction draft with $265 allocated to each team.  The biggest reach in our draft was Joc Pederson (Doyers rookie) which several managers got into a bidding war and was eventually bought at $17.  Gotta love fantasy baseball!

  2. The Angels acquired Teixeira for the second half of 2008.

Too bad Scioscia had an epic brain fart calling for the suicide squeeze in Game 4 with a lefthanded batter which allowed Varitek a clear line of signt at Willits crashing down the 3rd base line.

Trout likely goes on to become the better hitter (still needs years to do it, but he will), but as good as he is, i dont think he or anyone else is ever as fun to watch as vlad was.

Guys like trout, mcab etc are great because they are professional hitters. Vlad was great because he was too, but also so much of a freak. So unorthodox. My favorite swing of all time becausw it was so ugly (always 2 hands and violent).

He was a lot more clutch with the bat than people remember. Yeah he looked poor in a few short playoff series', but he was the go to guy for years when we trailed a game, and that was knowing he was never getting good pitches to drive. I still say the biggest mistake this team made over the last decade was not hetting a second hitter to compliment him. It should have been GA but he got arthritis and fell off. With the 2000's pitching we had, we should have done a lot more damage, but vlad was the lone big bat in otherwise decent lineups (especially considering the bosox and yanks of that era).

    And that arm....

  3. The fact that Scioscia is inconsistent with his "philosophy" - Why just in 2014 alone...he changes.

    Example?

    Here's another fresh example:

Bringing in mop up reliever Fernando Salas in the 11th when former closer Jason Grilli is still in the bullpen.  Did someone forget to tell Mike that Grilli was on the playoff roster?

MIke SCREWS THE POOCH yet again.

Tommy FREAKING Lasorda Jr.  He's just like his former manager who constantly choked in the playoffs before catching lightning in a bottle in 1988.

  4. 2004:  0-3 record  Swept by Boston in ALDS

2005:  4-6 record  Beat Yankees 3-2 in ALDS.  Lose to White Sox in 5 games in ALCS.

2007:  0-3 record  Swept by Boston yet again in ALDS

2008:  1-3 record  Lose to Boston in 4 games in ALDS.  Note:  It was Game 4 when Scioscia should have been fired for the absolute idiotic failed suicide squeeze play.  Arte should have Kiffin'd him at John Wayne Airport.

2009:  5-4 record  Sweep Boston in ALDS.  Lose to Yankees in 6 games in ALCS.  It's disgusting that Jeff Mathis is the last Halo with a walkoff hit in the postseason.

2014:  Swept by 0-2 record (so far) to the KC Royals.

There you have it folks.  Mike's ultimate resume in the postseason after 2002.

His teams most often fold quickly in the playoffs with the exception of 2009.  Even the 2005 Angels folded quickly in the ALCS after Josh Paul's brain fart and Doug Eddings' ridiculous call of the AJ play.

How much longer will Arte stand for being b#tchslapped by all the other AL teams in October?
