  1. I can just see the team trying to figure out a clause on that one for his next contract . . . "TEAM agrees to pay PLAYER the sum of $1,500 for the sole purpose of purchasing paper plates. PLAYER agrees to only use paper plates for the entire season and post season unless eating in a restaurant or other establishment where PLAYER does not have to do the dishes." Then, imagine him on a date . . . sorry honey, I know you cooked this nice meal for me, but it's in my contract. I just CAN'T do the dishes!
  2. Don't mess with a streak. Ever.
  3. When Time Magazine published their "person of the century" in 2000, there was only one obvious choice in my mind: The American serviceman. This country, this world, could not exist without your dedication, devotion, and sacrifice. G-d bless you and your families.
  4. Sappington is one hell of a fun guy to interview, and I'm hoping that he makes it just to get his takes on life in the Majors. If you haven't watched the interview with him, you should! It was his interview, and well, he did something that might just land him on Tosh.0 someday, but hell, it's his interview . . .
  5. Didn't the new CBA limit the amount total and on bonuses for international signings?
  6. I got another great interview with him yesterday and should be posting it in the next few days. The dude is a crackup.
  7. Excuse me, but can we have your liver? Another good article Glen!
  8. BTW, good job on this Scott. At least there are some positive things to look at in the system right now.
  9. Good job Jessica! I like that you took the time to come up with a solution rather than just ranting in the piece. It's one thing to criticize, it's an entirely different thing to fix something. I like the local connection with the Beach Boys! I'm not quite sure if Good Vibrations would go over well if the team was in the middle of a bad loss. I will have to think of something along those lines for a replacement.
  10. The 66ers have several good pitchers this year. Mike Morin, Sappington, and Wood are just a few worth making the drive out there.
  11. Great article Ellen! This is a must see movie for everyone whether they are baseball fans or not. It does a great job portraying history without being overly preachy or heavy handed. I have to admit that I am a bit jealous of Rob because I would want to somehow be connected with a project like that.
  12. Really good read. You captured the sentiment of many. I prefer to stay on the optimistic side of things, but can easily see why so many feel like you do. It's just part of being an Angels fan.
  13. Good report Scott! Thanks for the writeup. As I said in the intro to the Top-50 list, we have talent in the system. Overall, we are weak, but we have some talent, especially at the lower levels.
  14. If you went to the Oakley store last night, tell us what you liked the most in there.
  15. Remember, the contest will be on again tonight in the 2nd inning. Congrats to Josh Saunders our first winner.
  16. Just gave the book to my son for his 7th birthday. He LOVED it. Read about his Little League team and about the Angels, then flipped through to read about all the teams he's played so far. It's fun hearing your son read about baseball!
  17. Did you watch the video? They had lots of really good Angels-only items. Hats, shirts, sweatshirts, etc. Check it out.
  18. Tomorrow is my son's 7th birthday. I am planning on giving him one to help him know a bit about all the teams that he plays against in Little League (and yes, he'll even learn some facts about his own team, the Dodgers).
  19. There are a couple of points to this article. First, AngelsWin.com is very proud to be working very hard to bring some really cool events to Angels fans by partnering with Camarena Tequila. Second, this was a really cool event at the stadium, and showed a dramatic improvement in the relationship between the team's sponsors and the fans. I thought that it was an incredibly well run event and a lot of fun. As for the quality of the product, sure, there may be better ones out there, but most of them cost a whole heck of a lot more than the $20/bottle for Camarena Tequila. I thought that their price was rather reasonable for their product. I really had given up drinking tequila after one night in college, but, was pleased with the drinks that I learned to make at the event. Frankly, if mixology had been more in vogue when I was in my more formative years, I would have been a lot more happy to go out to bars and things.
  20. Drinking the drinks was good, but making the drinks was more than half the fun! Funny, the more we made, the more we drank, the more fun it all became. AngelsWin.com hopes to have some fun events going forward with both Familia Camarena Tequila and Joel Black very soon. Check them both out!
  21. Sorry, missed your question. Not the best person to ask about Groupon, but if you bought it and still need to know, I will ask. Please let me know.
