Protect the rotation with 2 rookies out there now. 

SP may not be bigger then RP now, I'll give anyone that, but it is down the line over Skaggs and Shoemaker. Skaggs is on a season IP pitch limit, and if Shoemake endures, he's on that watch as well.  Are they not rookies?  So, if the Halos don't protect the rotation but the bullpen about their moves, then how uneasy will it feel later and into the post season without Skaggs and possibly Shoemaker.     

...Relatively speaking, compared to Price, Samardjia, or Shields their trade prices are significantly higher then Colon since Colon is 41 y/o and viewed as somewhat of a damaged good by recent history.  The Mets bought him upon speculation to sell him off, though, and the contenders are looking at him as quite the bargain to go after.  He's the best one out there and theirs no denying that.  Just about all the contenders look to better position themselves upon their rotations, including the Angels that I've already made a strong point over. 

Starting pitching is a bigger concern than the bullpen.,      

And you never answered my question about who's the better bargain out there then Colon right now.  And shut up about English or Spanish while I might get your answer in English. 

How can anyone name a better bargain when you have no idea what it would take to get him?

we don't have the resources to go after a pitcher to just to block him from another team especially when we need to use whatever resources we have to get some relief pitching.  Just like three years ago we should have chased chase, now we need to close on closers.

I'll gamble on the relief pitching at hand and take Colon over it, thank you.

Angel Stadium similar to CitiField, the Halos lineup, that opponents are only batting .208 against him over the last 28 days with 106+ IP on the season. Somebody's going to gain on getting him if we don't.

Inevitably, they're facing of needing another reinforcement is why. I believe Skaggs can hold up and keep it going, great stuff, but I'm sure the front office have him to a season max IP limit like the Nats did with Strasburg, too. And, it's uncertain whether Shoemaker will hold up, although he's doing well now. I look over at the A's Billy Beane and what he's facing with Jessie Chavez comparing him to Shoemaker. By their patterns, I'm moving to protect against it, and fear that he might be moving on Colon, himself. So, block him off and get him first, at this point.

Do it, in a hearbeat, have Skaggs pitch at 5 that he's pitched to his season IP limit there.

Suppose the Halos balk at going after Colon while any of the other contenders needing starting pitching go after this bargain.  Has that team bettered themselves for the stretch run?  Definitely, so why should the Halos back down from the opportunity?

I don't know what to make of Kohn: live then dead, I guess. 

My worst fear is that the Mariners wind up with him. 

You have the Orioles with Cruz, the Jays with Melky, and the Brohaus with Braun...is a necessarily a blemish on the Halos to move on Colon? 

My suggestion is odd, I know, he's tested positive already, 41 y/o, but he pitched here and he's EFFECTIVE, still. 

I'm not sure whether my answer does any good.  Everybody else ignored or looked past it before but, yes, I didn't want it tied to Facebook so I changed it.

It would mean just that if the Halos acquired him at this point.  Oakland expected to fall, just getting swept by Detroit, while the Halos with a lineup just scratching at this surface of bolstering their rotation behind the best bargain, at this point.  Jump on it, Jerry!! 

I'm not concerned about either because is won't matter for the 2nd half of the season.  Pujols and Trout will rake for the 2nd half, there's no concern, so leave it at that. 

This team is so f'n STUPID, I'm sick to my stomach every time right there.  Calhoun's already in scoring position at 2B, what good does it do if he gets to 3rd base with 2 outs right there WHEN RUNNING UPON CONTACT WITH THE NEXT HITTER ANYWAY?!  PATHETIC!!!  

The Angels are better than they give themselves, they just find every which way to lose.  They were up 7-0 in Oakland last year, choked it, and lost in 18 innings.  How is it that they play so well up until they look like crap against Oakland, are they afraid of them? 

Any team that doesn't play it safe of keeping runners in scoring position with less than 2 outs, without the patience, too anxious to score deserves to lose the game.  They had Malone on the ropes early there. But instead of knocking the pitcher out, season after season, they foolishly run into unnecessary outs of killing themselves and giving him new life.

THEY'RE FRUSTRATING THIS WAY AND I'M FED UP WITH IT!!!

I'm encouraged by Skaggs, nonetheless.   

He has a lot of room for improvement, though.  Good arm, good athlete, good makeup to begin with.  Let's begin right there. 

I like him!  His technique is dragging him of better performance, though.  I'm worried about him hurting himself of the "herky-jerky" form.  It's taken him out of balance and has screwed him up altogether.  BUTCH, REQUIRE HE SCRAP IT, MY GOD!! 

Yeah, but with speedy men aboard, they've got to exploit Robertson's weakness of being slow to home. 

Somewhat surprised Trout didn't try to draw the throw of stealing 3B there for it to maybe sail out and him taking home.  Robertson is SLOOWWW to home plate.  Maybe for tomorrow, perhaps.
