It was on 830 during Lodge show. Lodge asked Arte about Trout getting a lot of at bats in ST and Arte started babling about the SS backhand and throw needs to be a hard throw.

Yup I heard an interview with Arte and Lodge (imagine the train wreck that would be) from ST and Arte genuinely thinks he knows a lot about baseball. He was trying to articulate what players are trying to do at ST, and he knows jack. Arte should be giving zero input on players, I'd like to discover if Perry has the goods or not.

It feels weird giving the owner credit or criticism on any player acquisitions. They should set the budget and hire a GM and support a healthy system.

I don't have any inside friends, but my suspicion is Arte has stepped in a few times. Pujols, Hamilton, Rendon, stopping Rengifo to dodgers trade, and refusing to trade Ohtani would be some examples. I asked because your language suggested Arte signed and drafted everyone. It sounds like you were more commenting on what the angels did under the ownership of Arte which makes sense.

Are you saying Arte is the one who made all those decisions? Obviously every owner needs to approve decisions, but you seem to be saying Arte has been calling the shots. Trading for Simmons, Teixeira, and Haren ; signing Morales, Abreu, and drafting Kendrick were all great moves under Arte. We can also add lots of incredibly detrimental moves.
