Mariners could very possibly lose Wedge next season due to his heart problems.
Seattle would take Scioscia in a heartbeat. Lots of other teams would, too.
I doubt other teams would be willing to assume the remainder of his contract in a trade. They might be willing to take him for peanuts if Moreno buys out the contract.

DLR is having an ok year. I wouldn't call 3.74 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, with a .242 BAA very good numbers.
I wonder if Steven Geltz will somehow turn into a Cy Young candidate out of nowhere a la Fernando Rodney
-
I was thinking along the lines of a bigger-than-life statue in front of the stadium.
I would have no objection to them painting over the Josh Hamilton mural at the Angel Stadium facade

Everyone in this pen sucks ass. It's like throwing feces at a target and hoping something sticks. Occasionally some does stick, but after a while it falls off and you're left cleaning up the mess.
Remember earlier on in the season when Mark Lowe, in a similar analogy to what you just posted, was hailed as the "clean peanut"?
good times

When I last checked the Angels were up 5-0.
**** this team

Spoilers baby
Problem is we're not spoiling the right team (read: the Rangers)

And, rightfully so. When it comes down to it, Scioscia has a ring, Dipoto doesn't. Scioscia can only work with what he's got, and what he's got is about as good as an AW.com over 40 year old all-star team. I mean, I was as excited when we got Pujols, CJ, and Hamilton. But, it just hasn't worked out. To me, Jerry is nothing more than an extension of Reagins, the bad Reagins, and arguably worse. At least, Reagins made decent signings. Here's another wonderful decision by our wonderful GM:
...
Scioscia has not one, but three rings -- he counts for 3 of the 11 "world series appearances" on Moreno's ridiculous billboard
-
Hopefully, they'll choke in the playoffs. In the NL, I hope the Braves or Pirates make it to the WS.
With our luck this season it will be a Dodgers - Rangers world series.
-
Incredible!
Rodney airmails the easy double play comebacker. Dodgers win.
Let me clarify the like:
while I'm not particularly a fan of the Dodgers, I can't help but like seeing Rodney get owned

That's the Fernando Rodney I remember...

The thing is that Cabrera is doing it under the pressure of a playoff race and batting third in the lineup.
Trout's doing it in a no pressure situation batting second and hasn't shown he can hit well in clutch situations.
I like Cabrera or Chris Davis FTW
decent troll job, but I've seen better out of you.
I'll give it a 6/10
The Chris Davis part is what gave it away...

Hmmmm....let me think.
In all of MLB, these are some of your most important team stats:
Pitching:
29th in ERA
27th in WHIP
25th in BAA
Hitting:
4th in SLG
5th in OBP
6th in AVG
What seems to be the problem here? REALLY hard to figure out. A true head-scratcher.
HINT: Getting rid of Scioscia to remedy the situation would be about as useful as painting the seats in the stadium a different color.
Angels are also among the worst in stranding runners on base, grounding into double plays, and running into outs on the basepaths. That means high SLG / OBP / AVG isn't actually translating into runs. A lot of that is due to poor in-game calls from Scioscia. They're also very bad in defense despite having a lot of talented players. I believe that is a result of poorly run spring training regimens, also the part of Scioscia and the coaching staff.

His numbers since May 1st are actually better than Cabrera's, except for the HR's and RBI.
Cabrera actually has people gettign on base in front of him (for him to drive in) and behind him (as protection / motivation for opposing teams to actually pitch to him).
To be honest with Hamilton and Trumbo behind him I'm surprised Trout isn't walked more often.
-
Hanson will win, but it will be the fault of Blanton:
Hanson will remain a starter and at some point walk the bases loaded. Blanton will be brought in in relief and allow the inherited runners to score.

Most of the fans have left....sad.
You can tell from the audio feed the vast majority of those who remain are Rangers fans
-
Rangers were 3-12 coming into last week's series with us in Arlington. Now they can't lose.
At least next we'll help Cleveland get on a roll so that they can take care of Detroit
-
Tell Houston we'll lay down for them every time we play them, if they will let Rodon fall to the Halos.
if we gift a bunch of games to the Astros we'll just be helping the White Sox or Marlins to jump in front of the Astros in the draft pick standings. There's no incentive for the Astros to go along with that.
-
it's surprising that the angels are below .500. baltimore has a worse pitching staff and offense and they have over 60 wins. it doesn't really make sense.
The Orioles are clutch. The Angels are not.
-
Is this directed towards me or someone else?
not directed at anyone in particular. I posted that right after the two run bomb.
-
Blanton sucks. Let's trade him for a high quality pitching prospect [/forumlogic]

I predict a Ranger will steal 1st off Hanson.
I only know of one case of someone actually stealing first in a professional baseball game during my lifetime:
-
Sweet 8 lb. 10 oz. Baby Jesus. Trout is the reason I watch this team. It sure as hell isn't the .219 hitter following him.
...nor the disabled former all-star getting paid $250M to be a mentor/glorified hitting coach.
-
I'm shocked that Tommy Hanson, who almost never gets groundballs, didn't get the groundball DP Scioscia was trying to set up
Tommy Hanson has a high FB/GB ratio. With
Bourjos andTrout in the OF we can't lose!
Lots of Angels notes in Rosenthal's column

If they aren't gone there's a good chance I might be.
It's not worth getting emotionally invested in the team as much as I have the last several years if they don't radically change their course.
