  1. Yeah, I'm not sure what he's holding onto here. The only way Louf can believe you're wrong is if he didn't follow along and then stripped your quote from its context... perhaps unintentionally. http://www.angelswin-forum.com/forums/topic/33793-death-penalty-or-lack-thereof-in-california/?tab=comments#comment-1094334
  2. They've tried like hell to legislate abortion away at both the state and federal level. Oftentimes people don't want others having access to things they aren't comfortable with.

  4. Mexico isn't a developed country. They have a badly corrupted government that's at war with the cartel . That might have something to do with it. Lou was correct in stating that it didn't include every country. Regardless, the countries listed outpopulate us by a considerable amount but yet the tally isn't even close. The common denominator is gun control. This is irrefutable.
  5. 66% of mass shootings took place in this country. The rest of the world out-populates us by a long shot. So yes, pretty scientific of them.
  6. She pulled a MAGA. Bet the NRA spokeswoman wishes she could have that one back. Pretty hilarious how gun nuts didn't seem to give a shit about mental health a few years ago.
  7. I don't agree with everything that's been proposed to curb some of the violence but you're asking the wrong questions. We will probably never "stop" every potential mass shooting from occurring. The bar you set is pretty much impossible to reach in this country. The question should be what can we do to reduce the number with sensible action. Enhanced background checks for every gun purchase is a good first step. Most reasonable gun owners are on board with that.
  8. Apparently he watched Fox News all day yesterday and tweeted some of their far-right talking points, including this one. He's not happy about the indictments. It's a shame that there isn't an additional, more moderate right-wing news channel in the mainstream. Fox News, for the most part (although not entirely), is more batshit crazy than it's ever been in spreading propaganda, and that's obviously saying something. If they're not floating conspiracy theories, they're over-reaching or conflating completely separate issues, as seen in the above tweet.
  9. Agreed, in this instance, that wasn't in question. I personally would like to see a ban on assault weapons, but if not that then at the very least, I think the minimum age for purchase should be 21, as it is with handguns.
  10. The executive order made it easier for the mentally ill who are receiving Social Security checks because of their condition, and who are not mentally fit to handle their own finances, to get a gun. After taking a quick look, I can't say for certain whether or not they would have already had their due process.
  11. I got your 2016 MAGA right here. I agree.
  12. Some context, then: http://time.com/5163141/robert-muellers-russia-indictments-election-interference/ Thirteen Russians and three Russian companies were charged Friday with an elaborate plot to interfere in the 2016 U.S. presidential election through social media propaganda aimed at helping Republican Donald Trump and harming the prospects of his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, prosecutors announced Friday. The indictment, brought by the office of special counsel Robert Mueller, represents the most direct allegation to date of illegal Russian meddling during the election. It says Russians created bogus Internet postings, posed online as American political activists and fraudulently purchased advertisements — all with the goal of swaying political opinion during the bitterly contested race. The intent of the meddling, the indictment says, was to “sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 presidential election.”
  13. Trump's executive order made it easier for some who are mentally ill to avoid the process you suggested.
  14. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/02/15/us/ar15-mass-shootings-guns.html In Florida: Under federal law, you also must be 21 to buy a handgun from a firearms dealer. But 18-year-olds can buy semiautomatic rifles. makes sense. Rick Scott might want to take a look at that before calling for someone else's resignation.
  15. Yep. Needless to say, that is corruption at the highest level of government - no conspiracy theories on this one.
  16. Pretty much. Once again, government corruption will prevent any kind of regulation that most Americans agree on.
  17. When Rand Paul took control of the Senate floor just before 6 p.m. Eastern, virtually every one of his Republican colleagues grimaced. Five years ago, they would have cheered him.
  18. Aside from his position on state rights, which I don't think makes him much of a libertarian despite what some may think (from what I understand, he doesn't claim to be one), he's also pretty good on Criminal Justice Reform. And yeah, he's not a total hypocrite.
