  1. Selig, Torre and the rest of the old geezers are whats wrong with baseball and whats ruining baseball. Get someone young in their with fresh ideas. The only sport with two different leagues with different rules. Different umpires calling different balls and strike zones and no instant replay on getting calls right because "human element is great for the game" bull!

  2. Love this idea. I seriously am starting to hate MLB more and more. The A's have one of the shittiest ball parks and they should be able to move to San Jose and MLB is a joke. They are seriously behind on technology by 100 years and the old people who run MLB are ruining baseball to the point I am starting to just not want to watch a lot of it anymore. Which is sad because I love baseball.

  3. So I just got back from the game. Great game by the Angels. I was wondering if you guys saw the play where the ball went in the outfield and the fan interfered with it or at least it looked like it from my perspective. Did the fan interfere with it? What were Buck and McCrappy saying about it or Midget Rosenthal?

  4. Honestly just another reason I am starting to dislike baseball more and more. Baseball needs to get instant replay and the strike zones fixed and make them universal. Because It is the only sport that has different rules for totally different umpires. Baseball is such a dinosaur sometimes.

  5. lol at the locals here making such a big ruckus over Aybar leading off. He did bat .290 w/.324 obp last season, which is good enough to lead off on this team at the moment. I don't see too many better options at lead off right now ... except for Trout but then you would have Aybar batting second.

324 OBP is great for lead off spot lol. Yep wouldn't want the best lead off hitter in the game playing there that would be a shame. Mike has put JB Shuck Aybar and everyone else at lead off but won't move Trout back their to see if it can help. I really can't wait to get rid of Mr Mike.

  6. The answer is not to move Trout to the leadoff position. That doesn't really accomplish anything. #1 Pujols, under the circumstances, should not be in the 3 hole. #2 Aybar is a temporary leadoff until Bourjos gets back. Bourjos has been doing a fine job of setting the table so far, and while he can't seem to figure out stealing bases, he has fantastic first to third speed (or even first to home considering Trout's frequent extra base hits). But all of that is wasted anyway as long as Pujols and Hamilton are hitting like they are in the 3,4 or 5 positions.  We aren't forcing him to be a home run hitter, The 2 hole isn't for home run hitters. He hits home runs because it's part of his arsenal regardless of where he is in the lineup. Bulking up to be a power hitter is nonsense.

With this team Trout is the ideal 1 hitter because we have Pujols and Hamilton. Hell could you imagine Trout on a team like Detroit in the lead off spot he would be killing it with home runs runs scored etc. Trout is a lead off hitter who should be stealing many more bases than he is. Peter was doing great in the lead off spot but Trout would be even better in the lead off spot. Heck put Peter in the two hole to be able to bunt and get speedy hits Trout leading off and Peter batting 2 would be much better imo.

    Seriously what does hoc mean?

  7. and he can't utilize all of that from the 2 hole?

No he can't because one Mike won't let him steal when Pujols is at the plate. 2 there is already 1 out because Aybar has a crap OBP. 3 He isn't leading off the game. Love Mike all you want but Trout is the best lead off hitter in the game. He is not a 50 home run or 40 home run middle of the order bat he is speedy with power and can steal bases. Why are we forcing him to be a home run hitter when that's not what he is meant for. Yes he has power but I don't want him bulking up losing his speed and trying to be a power hitter because Pujols and Hamilton can't do anything of power anymore.

  8. In this day and age ... most players have their own personal hitting coach who knows their swing. I think it's the players responsibility to get their act together at the plate ... not the coaches.  I don't blame Eppard or Hatcher.

Nice to hear that Pujols was working with Trout through video on his swing.

Than why have coaches on the team. Seems like a waste of money to pay anyone other than the Manager and even then the players know how to play so do we really need a manager.

  9. Why chuck?

Because he is the table setter. He has high OBP power can steal 50 plus bases a year, create havoc on the basepaths and can create runs. We have no one on our team besides him who can. Peter can't steal, Aybar doesn't get on base, Callaspo doesn't steal much either. Trout is Rickey Henderson plain and simple.

  10. Mike is not dull, he's stubborn.

He's waiting for Aybar to break out and start getting on base. He's going to wait a long time.

Remember Steve Finley and how long that went on?

Hence why I think it is time for him to go. Trout is an amazing lead off hitter, he gets everything going with his power speed walks and everything else. When Mike is gone next year I look forward to the new manager placing Trout back as our lead off hitter

  11. So let me get this straight we kick butt last year when Trout comes up and leads off, steals bases, hits home runs and everything starts to gel. 3 weeks into this season Mike decides to move him to the 2 hole and we are one of the worst teams in the league? He is probably the best lead off hitter in the league why are we having low obp guys leading off when we could have the best lead off hitter in the game leading off? Is Mike really that dull?

  12. Keep - Trout , Trumbo , Weaver , Kendrick , Aybar Bourjos

Trade - anyone else - keep the homegrown guys build around them -

Why would you keep Weaver Kendrick and Aybar if we aren't going to be good for a couple years might as well trade them for prospects who will be good in a couple years. Get rid of as much salary as you can
